Hands down the most influential teacher I have had so far at UCSB. The class was fascinating and he solidified the fact that I wanted to be an English major. Every human being should be required to take a class from him. Purely awesome. He is hilarious as well if you grasp sarcasm and dry humor.

Very interesting class. Amazing teacher. Highly highly recommend him. Must attend all classes, but if you show up and do the readings you'll do just fine.

I had Geoff as Prof. and TA for three different classes. His lectures and discussions are interesting and also relevant to things outside of class. I can honestly say I learned a lot from Geoff - about literature and about myself. He fostered my growth as a student and improved my confidence in literature analysis greatly. Awesome guy!

Awesome guy. Very laid back. Good sense of humor and keeps conversations interesting. He likes student participation, and he knows his stuff.

Makes a lot of jokes, witty remarks, and fun/relevant observations that keeps the class interesting and makes the hour seem like 20 minutes. Aside from all that, I'm learning a lot from a completely new perspective.

he is the sweetest guy! he is very helpful- utilize his office hours and you are almost guaranteed an A.. with your own effort of course. great teacher!
