Although difficult to understand, she is a pretty good professor. Take advantage of her practice tests because they are really similar to the actual one.

Really good teacher. Gives extra credit. Tests are almost exactly like the practice tests. If you have to take math, take this class.

By far, a much better calc teacher than my high school teacher. She has an accent, but easy to adapt to. I went to every lecture & actually like math. She's GREAT! Take her if you get the chance to. My fav math professor by far. Take CLAS too! Helps tremendously!

Professor Joo was wonderful. Although she does have an accent it's easy to get use to. She's always well prepared for lectures and teaches the material well. Her midterm and final are almost exactly as the practice ones she gives. She give plenty of time for 20-25 problems of homework. It not hard to get an A in her class.I recommend taking her.

Though her accent took a while to get used to she definitely knows what she is doing and covers every concept systematically with a lot of example problems. The homework assignments are hard but they prepare you for the tests and the ta's will do the them for you during discussion. I did not touch the book last quarter and got a B+

i took her class S09;went to class, did HW & extra credit, studied hard for solid A. real final was HARDER than practice final, but she had prepared us with in-class examples & HW, so I still managed to do well. very helpful & good clear lectures, wants students to succeed. didn't even need CLAS, just studied on my own.

Okay, as much as i would love to give her a nice grade, i can't. She's amazing at math, ill give her that. But she sucks at teaching, and it shows. She WILL give examples but that isn't enough for a lot of people, and the fact that she doesn't go over the homework makes it worse. If she actually had teaching credentials, things might be better.

Terrible teacher. Master of her field for sure, but as far as teaching goes, nearly intolerable. She is undoubtedly a smart lady, but her homework always goes unexplained, leaving me in the dark. Practice midterm helped, but was nothing like the actual exam. Not looking forward to the final. Avoid at all costs, take Akemann instead.

Very easy. Make sure you do your homework and go to class to take her pop quiz. Test are right from the practice tests that she offers, but the final is a lot harder than then practice final. Got an A but that was cuz of CLAS.

Joo is relatively easy to understand and is very organized in her lectures. Homework is not bad, but her tests can be on the hard side. However, she curves the class and offers extra credit at the end.

one of the better math professors I've had. she's organized and knows the math very well. don't let people say her accent is bad. it's not. never had a problem understanding her. the homework targets what we are learning each week. do it. it helps a lot.

She teaches you what you need to know in a simplified manner that is easy to understand. I don't know why ppl have such a hard time with her accent...it really isn't that bad at all. Practice tests online are just like that actual ones so make sure you know how to work problems relating to them! Book is useful for extra practice, but not required.
