Super helpful teacher. He was so approachable and was always available during office hours. Really knowledgeable on material and was a great lecturer. Super down to earth. His test were kind of hard and you definitely had to attend every class and keep up with the reading. He had an essay at the end of his test. Great listener. Would recommend him.

I had Pav for both Writing 2&English 10 my freshman year,and he honestly changed the ways that I read and write.He definitely challenges his students,but his lectures are brilliant.He is approachable,great with help outside of class,and he makes the most boring readings entertaining.Pav is the most influential teacher I had at UCSB.

i love pav! he is so helpful during and after class and in office hours. he obviously loves what he does and is good at it! he told us that one of his teachers in college was Jhumpa Lahiri, who is an amazing author, so that was really cool that she taught him.

He's a great teacher, leads discussions very well, made the 2 hours fly by. He's very helpful during office hours, he's always very clear on his assignments, and very likable. I hate writing but he made it bearable. Had a lot of good stories in the reader we used in class. He also lets you rewrite one of your first 2 papers which is nice.

Pav was articulate, inspiring, and helpful. He was quick to spark discussion and encourage students to participate. His comments on returned papers were clear and consructive. He was also a poet in NYC, so that's kinda cool.
