Treu's a funny guy. He's got an awesome accent and he's really really nice! His lectures were fun and chill--dealt more with concepts then with book problems. The curve was very fair too! All of this doesn't even matter anymore as he left us to go researchteach at UCLA. He's a funny guy! I love him!

Treu is a great guy and really passionate about the material but unfortunately he's just not a very good professor. Lectures were completely useless; all he did were iClickers and demos. Homework was hard but the tests were harder. The curve saved my ass. Just going to lecture won't help, you'll need to read the book and utilize CLAS to do well.

Be wary if you are not a physics major. Lectures are all conceptual stuff and nothing that will help you on homework or tests. His tests are awkwardly written and the questions require you to guess what to do since they're not like any homework problems. Even though his tests are open note and book they're still very difficult.

I have had Tommanso for Astro 1 and 2, and I have to say he is the nicest guy you'll ever meet. Just an all around genuine person who loves to teach. The only complaint I can think of is some of his test questions are awkwardly worded. He grades generously, so even if he has a problem that is a little weird, it'll balance out in the long run.

Great professor. Makes the class very interesting and is generally clear and straightforward. Recommended for anyone interested in the subject.

This class was really fun, I hardly went to lecture and missed both midterms and still got a B. I wouldn't recommend doing that though. He is a great professor and wants you to succeed and the course material is really interesting. Basic math skills required, but as long as you can use formulas, it's really not so bad.

DO NOT TAKE IF YOU DON'T KNOW PHYSICS the class was really hard so have a study/homework group. Lecture is mandatory cause of iclicker but really entertaining often. cool experiments and he's really clumsy and makes jokes. go to section and office hours if you want an A, or just take it P/NP you only need a 55% BEWARE not good just 4 ge fulfillment

really fun professor. you can tell he really wants students to do well in his class. the class isn't a walk in the park, though, since the material is heavily based on physics. if you're not good at math (like I am) you HAVE to put in some effort. but it's worth it, since astronomy is fascinating and the professor is really passionate about it.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. The average on the 1st midterm was 50% with hardly any curve. I had to drop it!!! DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS.

Easy and fun GE class, professor knows what he's talking about and is entertaining, would definitely recommend. You can get an A- with 85% in the class so as long as you do the hw and somewhat study for tests (which are open book), you should breeze through

Awesome curve. Prof. Treu is very passionate about what he teaches. Tests are moderate. He lets you use the book.
