This is SEVERAL years late, but he made THAT much of an impact on my life. Jeff is AMAZING. I even got the opportunity to be his research assistant and it was the MOST memorable experience of my college career. TAKE HIS CLASS. ANY CLASS. YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT.
Excellent prof. Uses relatable jokes to keep the lectures interesting and gets straight to the point of each chapter. Very helpful and really wants you to do well in his class. Attendance isn't vital, but once you've been in his lecture, you'll always want to attend.
So good, hilarious and keeps the class interesting through even the dryest material!
Such a good prof! He makes it very interesting because he is just so passionate about the subject! Always a laugh
Hilarious!
AWESOMESAUCE!
This professor is a dedicated teacher who takes complex and challenging subject matter and makes it easy for anyone to understand! He is always willing to help students because he just truly enjoys teaching. Classes are more like theatrical performances with Jeff who is guaranteed to always have his signature cup of coffee in hand as his prop! :)
This professor is an amazing teacher. He's so enthusiastic about the subject matter that you can't help but let it rub off on you. I wouldn't sat he was easy, but I did do very well in his class because he is fair. His tests are not impossible like some teachers in his same field. Trick questions aren't his thing.
The funniest professor at UCSB by far. He makes you want to go to class even though he doesn't take roll. Makes things very easy to learn by describing them with funny stories.
Lectures were interesting although his quick speech was hard to keep up with when taking notes. 2 multiple choice tests were the only assignments but you had to get over the puzzling structure of the questions themselves before you could even answer them. Too many questions in ration to the time given to take the midterm.
Born to be a professor. He could have been teaching anything and I would have loved it. Just plain phenominal. I never wanted to miss a lecture. It's possible to get an A even if you bomb the midterm. He's really helpful, actually cares, and wants you to learn. Take a class with him before you graduate otherwise you've wasted your tuition.
Evolution of the Gene. Totally harsh tests. Multiple choice, all science questions based not off lectures but from AP Bio from high school. Great teacher, great lectures, but he needs to revoke my F and give me a better grade for what I learned and my participation, the midterm and final were bull.
