I took Colin's class during the summer. He gave great material to read, and was flexible with the course's direction. He rubbed me the wrong way a bit, had "favorites", and seemed to be able to put his foot down when problems arose. He gave great feedback on papers, and keep the class interesting. colin's a super enthusiastic and brilliant guy. he's always available to help students, and seems to pick readings that go beyond most people's exposure to different topics and subcultures. i highly suggest taking a class with him...he's got a lot of promise as an instructor...o yah and he's a hotter, younger version of hugh grant...

He never stops talking and he seems to look down on his students.

Really enjoyed his class. Assigned very interesting readings. Made the class less of a drag. Let us out early most of the time. Very enthusiastic about everything he is teaching. Has class discussions which further help you understand the material. Fair grader and is willing to help when you need it. Definitley recommend him.

I enjoyed the class quite a bit-- he graded fairly and he did a really good job in relating what we were learning to what is happening in the world, which i felt really helped out. Also, the papers weren't unreasonable by any means and he has a good sense of humor, but he is definitely a little nerdy... but in a good way, yes. Good class, overall.

This professor is so sexy i seriously could not concentrate. I wanted to go in for extra help just so I could hang out with him, he's seriously adorable. Despite my super crush on him he was always super professional and friendly. He makes super funny comments but is he married? i hope not.

My favorite class this quarter. Liked almost all of the reading. Carman can come off as condensending at times, but he is easily forgiven, thanks to his quirky and somewhat nerdy sense of humor. Just a darned good English class, in general.

Extremely helpful in editing of papers. Very open to different views. Tests are fair and are based on the readings. Provides extra credit opportunities. His subtle dry wit was great. I actually enjoyed going to class.

OK, as if Carman is not, like, the bestest damn English professor on this whole damn campus, he is also, like, totally hot!! I highly recommend him on so many levels!!

I've never been one to look forward to an English class, but he makes it fun. When we have group discussions and it's nice out, he'll ask if we would prefer to work outside. He repects the students and their opinions. The work load is nothing to complain about. Highly recommended for English.
