The class consisted of a journal (notes on films) and a final four-page paper. Workload is completely manageable, all you had to do was watch Beatles films and take notes! The class met once a week, alternating in person and on zoom. Professor is super passionate, a joy to be around and has loads of connections/experience in the film industry!

Super interesting class on the Beatles but time-consuming. It's not a hard class and the only homework is writing journals about Beatles movies. There's one 2 hour live lecture per week plus you have to watch around 2 hours of Beatles movies per week. If you don't like the Beatles, don't take it. The final is a creative project. Prof is passionate!

Allison is amazing and her class is pretty entertaining. She has a lot of (A LOT) of industry experience so a lot of the class consisted of Q&A's in which she was able to answer all sorts of questions. She also knows a lot about music, so if you're interested in both I definitely recommend her!

Allison is the best teacher ever. I have been in her beatles and punk films classes and she is seriously the most interesting and hilarious teacher i have had at ucsb. she is very knowledgable about the topics and makes class so fun. I wish i could take more classes with allison, but i am graduating. SHE IS AMAZING.

Punks on Film was one of the most entertaining classes I've taken. Anders is really chill and likes to have a good laugh. Easiest class I've ever taken. The films and music were great!

She is the first professor to make attending class fun. She's the best, tells tons of interesting stories based on firsthand experiences and brings in directors and musicians after you watch their stuff. You learn a lot by experiencing a genre through a film. Incredible.

she was offended when i went to first class clueless as to what will be taught but she was totally happy to clarify for me that we'd be learning about The Beatles, their music and the films that were made about them. awesome fun class. creative final project. attend.watch rare indie films.get inspired.she's a director herself, knows her craft

Allison is an amazing instructor!!!it was so refreshing to have someone who actually works in the field come and teach us rather than someone who knows the textbook by heart!!! two thumbs up!!!

anyone who says she isn't helpful probably doesn't want to do anything with film after graduating. Allison maybe an easy A but she has a lot of experience and is extreamly nice and warm hearted. She would gladely anwser ANY question you had and is great!

This class was the most fun. We got to watch rock films, and write a paper on one of them. Very laid back atmosphere and Prof. Anders is fun and a genius. There was just one paper, two quizzes, and a final project. Easy, but effort must be put into the work.
