I love Evelyn! I am a freshman and she graded my placement test, and put me into German 5, which is the perfect place for me! I am learning so much and she is so funny that I laugh so hard I cry, almost every day (wirklich). Ich liebe deine Deutsch Fünf Klasse Evelyn! Ich kann nicht warten bis nextest Quarter!
She is awesome! I went to other German professors' classes for the first two weeks. Compared to them, Evelyn is the best. She explains things very well that you can actually understand. I don't have any backgrounds about this language so I really need someone to explain things well. The grading is easy as long as you make effort. Highly recommended
Evelyn is great. She brings so much enthusiasm to the classroom that everybody just has to get excited about learning German! :)She does lots of different activities, is so helpful and patient and really, really cares about her students. I definitely recommend this class!

This was the best class I've taken at UCSB. Evelyn is wonderful: Enthusiastic, fun, patient, accommodating, and she clearly loves her students. Highly recommend!
Super fun class, excellent teacher, and the whole department is VERY accommodating if you have a class that conflicts with German once or twice a week. Also, the very few tests ( midterm and short final) have word banks for the voca and examples for the grammar exercises, so as long as you do most of the homework, you almost definitely have an A.
I just joined this class and I already love it. Evelyn brings so much positive energy to the classroom and she always encourages you to try and helps you when you get stuck. Sie ist am besten!
