(Fall 2023) The class is entirely self-graded, so it's very much "what you put in is what you get out"; very easy to get an A. Granted, I don't remember much of the material, but the class made me very comfortable with matrices, which I feel like was the point. Really nice, though he could be math heavy (I'm a math guy so good for me I guess).
He has an amazing ability to be both mathematically precise and speak to the practical applications of the content. Fair and always answers student questions with clarity and respect. A wonderful teacher that I would whole-heartedly recommend for any class.
Very good Prof. , very helpful and gives good grades.
Great professor. Highly intelligent, capable of answering any questions you have, and extremely clear lecturer. Midterm was pretty fair, but his final was pretty difficult (has a decent curve though). Go to lecture, do your homework (AND understand it) - you'll be fine.
Excellent lecturer, nice guy, crystal clear explanations. Kept my attention every class and answered my questions directly and completely - couldn't ask for more !
Really easy to follow...very methodical and lucid in his teaching!
Great Prof
This professor is great! He is truly a mathematician at heart and knows his stuff! Homework and exams are quite difficult, and he tests concepts rather than your ability to memorize recipes and formulas, but his exams are rewarding and speaking to him is always a pleasure. He is also very helpful during office hours.
His hw assignments are not easy and tests are pretty hard. But he lectures very well and he is very helpful during office hours. Prof Chandrasekaran is an excellent teacher! By the way: Do Not Miss His Lectures!
If you are a math major you would probably like him. Otherwise dont even think about it. It is something i rather forget tomorrow! Good luck.
Shiv is a very unique teacher and definately does things his way. He told me that he started lecturing without notes because he found it forced him to think about what he says rather than reading off notes like a robot. Very nice guy, passionate about science and math. Simply a pleasure to learn from and talk to. I wish he taught more courses!
Many believe he is good at teaching, but I just couldn't understand his lecture. I found it a lot easier to understand the material by reading the textbook and doing the homework.
