Really boring lectures, but luckily they aren't necessary to go to. Tests were very similar to the homework with no surprises. Put your time in to doing the assignments correctly, then study them before the tests and you will do fine.
The first two homeworks are hard, but once you get the hang of it, the last seven homeworks are of medium difficulty. I got decent grades on the homework and on the midterm and was on track for a B. However, laziness kicked in and I ended up failing the final really hard and ending up with a C. Definitely study for BOTH exams!
You should get an early start on hw as it can be fairly long. Stay ahead of the reading and this class will be easy. Abaqus portion of the hw was usually straight forward since most involve just modifying the tutorial. Attend the first few labs to get acquainted with Abaqus, no need after first couple weeks. Midterm and final were not difficult.

I like him a lot. Tried his best to make the class interesting but there's only so much you can do with Finite Element Analysis. His reader is very clear. Answers questions through emails promptly and he is always willing to help. Exams can be tricky and the Abacus part of the homework is annoying because it can be very vague.
Shugar is allright. His lecture notes online are really good, usually take care of doing homework. His tests are pretty fair, except for a few minor details.
