MEINHART C
Prof Meinhart is awesome. Knows a lot about the material and very nice and funny. There were 5 simple homework assignments and a midterm. Sometimes a final or final project, but we didn't have one. Very cool guy!
Meinhart will just guide you through COMSOL examples the whole time in class which is helpful but not totally necessary to attend. Class was completing Comsol tutorials and a final report. He'll also help you if you start your final project early! Pretty easy class
Nice guy. Easy midterm. Hard final. I liked his teaching style. He mostly did problems during class.
Meinhart is a really good professor and a cool guy. He goes thoroughly through the material in class and his midterm is pretty in line with what you have in the homework. Final was a little out of left field but he curves and overall it is a good class.
Best teacher you can ask for by far. Tests correspond directly to what he covers and what he says will be on them. Final is harder than the midterm but still doable. Practice problems from the textbook and you'll succeed.
The best teacher you can ask for.
He is a great professor, nevertheless his final isn't on the easy side at all. Might be a bit confusing since he alsways states that his test will be about what you covered in the homework - not necessarily true! But, his lectures are interesting that the topics are easily understood!
Professor is engaging and shows a real enthusiasm for the subject. Midterm was reasonable, but the final was extremely difficult.
He's a good teacher and is very helpful. He's a cool guy. Relates stuff to the real world and isn't all theory. Midterm was fair, but there wasn't enough time. Final was pretty tough.
Probably the worst professor I've ever had. He is a cool but he by far cannot teach. Showed us slides from the publisher of the book for most lectures. Totally useless. Only reason to go to class is to find out what the HW is. Homework was not too bad and midterm was reasonable. However he made the final (50% of grade) insanely difficult.
Thermo with Meinhart is probably the easiest thermo class offered at UCSB. Unfortunately, the subject is still hard. The midterm and homeworks were reasonable. The final exam was amazingly hard though. The entire class was there for the full three hours. He doesn't write his own exams. He obtains the problems from a question bank.
He definitely keeps me intersted in thermal fluids!!!
