Not a bad class overall, weekly quizzes/writing assignments were all easy and you finish with a group project on an institutional reform. Mandatory attendance at lecture was a bit of a bummer though

We had weekly peer reviews which weren't too helpful considering everyone was lost. Entire grade is pretty much comprised of midterm and final, the midterm basically being a draft of your final. Be besties with your TA and reach out for help. Don't wait until the last week to write 25 pages like I did!

This class sucked a lot but I though that Prof Stoll made it as understandable and clear as possible. The organization of the class made everything really accessible and I am really glad I took this hard class with her. Highly recommend!

Professor Stoll is a good professor, but this course is not easy. She made us weekly peer review which was not helpful because everyone was confused. Every assignment consisted of material for the final research paper but the material was taught with examples instead of actual definitions. Doing the "labor you choose" is what really helped.

She is very organized. The class it self is very difficult and a lot is expected of you. Half of your grade in this class is based off on one final paper that is very difficult. As a transfer student, this class was harder and more stressful because your advancement into full major is based solely off of this class.

Incredibly obsessed with controlling every aspect of the course to the point of having quotas for office hours, assigning 3-4 assignments every week as well as a term paper that accounts for 60% of the final grade. Lots of work, students asking questions just for the sake of asking them because of the mindboggling counterintuitive grading policy.

eh wish i took this class with a different professor. 20 page final paper while every other professor who taught this class had problem sets to give their students

Heather seems like an intelligent lady. However, this is not an easy course. You're required to download SPSS on your laptop which is really hard to navigate. It's week 5 and our TA only really explained how to use it briefly. Really confusing material which could be more straightforward. She encourages discussion and coming to office hours though.

Extremely organized professor, but not easy at all. 50% of your grade is based off the term paper which is graded very harshly. However she is EXTREMELY clear about what she wants from you so it doesn't feel unfair. Lectures are a boring though.

Shes very dull and at times boring in lecture! The material is easy to understand! Your grade is consisted of a midterm, final, and term paper! Exams are easy if you understand and do her study guides! Exam same concept! Term paper is 10-15 pages and its coding data! Graded very harshly! Make sure you go to your TAs office hours

Pr. Stoll is a great person, and a great teacher. Expectations were clear, lectures were interesting and thoughtful (you can tell she really cares). This is one of the classes where attending lecture every time and going to office hours are way more helpful than the book.

I thought she was a bit dry in 104A, but when it comes to Israeli politics, there really isn't a better professor to take 149 with. Easy to understand, fair grader, papers are straight forward, and the final exam is a take home.
