Lecture was very random and never really specified what was important. Paden is a smart/cool guy, but lecture time never goes into detail on the material you actually need to be able to produce for exams and it is also conceptual in the book. The lab is time-consuming but not on pace with lecture. Studying old tests are your best bet for exams.

I'm not a fan of Paden's teaching style; his lectures are really random. Exams are based on lectures much more than HW. Prepare for tests by studying old exams on the website and by looking over your notes. The Labs suck. Not too difficult of a class overall though.

Decided to give us much more difficult tests than he had given for this class in previous years.Homework was pretty straight forward but as I said before, was pretty tough to do better than average on exams.The labs were the best part of this class although they can be a pain sometimes due to faulty equipment.Overall, decent professor.

A lot of work in those labs! He is pretty smart and sometimes cracks jokes in class. Study for the exams with the exams posted online and don't stress too much because there is a curve. Relatively easy B, Very hard A.
