Honestly one of the best ECON Professor at UCSB! Classes are very interesting and he is very-well respected. Lectures are not mandatory yet more than half of people show up just to learn from him! Very knowledgable person in monetary economics and the crypto world. Highly recommended!

Phenomenal professor. Very knowledgable and qualified to teach about monetary economics. Lectures are engaging, and slides are clearly written out and easy to follow. Very reasonable exams, with a lot of questions taken from the practice posted on Canvas. Best professor I've taken in the department.

Easily one of the best professors in the Econ department. I took 135 with him this spring and learned so much about monetary policy, inflation, Fed, crypto, etc. from him. He makes lecture so interesting and I looked forward to every class, he talked about his time at the Fed too. Really friendly as well. Could not recommend more

Great Professor. Great Class.

Class in itself is not terribly difficult, but attending the lectures is crucial. Posted slides are vague, confusing, and hard to decipher. Attendance is not made mandatory but if you take this class PLS go to lecture

Prof Garratt is great. This class won't stress you out but you will still learn a lot. Lectures are straight from the textbook for the most part. Two quizzes, both multiple choice. Would recommend
