Ambi creates a safe environment for us to explore human diversity and how we fit in. Great videos - makes historical events come to life. Learned a lot about how important ethnic identity is in creating a democratic society. He really wants his students to succeed.
He's very friendly, and his classes are interesting and fun! The exams can be a little hard, but you'll be fine if you read the textbooks and get ready to write about the topics. You'll have to do a 5-min presentation at the end of semester, but it's pretty relaxing and fun.
This class was a lot more work than I thought. 3 Page play reviews due once a week. Although he grades relatively easy (An A is 85-100), the reviews do take a decent amount of time. No midterms. The final is during dead week and it consists of performing a play that he assigns. I put in minimal effort and received an A.
Hands down the MOST CHILL professor ever - heck, he doesn't even want you to call him "professor". You just do group readings of plays and write reviews each week - you're required to watch an on-campus play and write a paper and the final is a play reading again, but he expects more effort (costume, creativity, etc.) Easy class, fun guy! Do take!
This class was incredibly easy. Ambi is a sweet guy, I think he memorized everyone's name and hometown by the first class. However, I didn't learn much. Most of the time was spent reading aloud, or listing to him read our papers aloud. This class is high school level at best which made it unstimulating and boring and hard to want to attend.
Ambi is one of the best profs I have ever had!! Definitely take a class with him. He is entertaining, and really interested in his students doing well!! Awesome guy, and highly recommended!
