easy class! CLAS is a great alternative to lecture. Great gpa booster because it is a 5 unit class. There is also no reason to buy the book (but it is a good textbook if you need clarification).
He is an overall good teacher with an affinity for kittens, though its really easy to fall behind if you don't attend every lecture
He is literally the worst professor I have ever had. His teaching style is terrible. He is monotonous, boring, and he just can not teach. What's more, he is totally unaccommodating in every way. If you are forced to take a class from him, don't ever go to office hours, because he is totally worthless as a teacher, even one on one.
very easy class, just read the book and your good, didnt go to lecture at all and just showed up for test. the practice test and discussion helped alot.
The class was really easy. There was no cumulative final. Practice test were a big help. Carter seems like a nice guy, but you're better off reading the book and just attending section. The book and subject matter is very easy.
he is a horrible lecturer. hard to follow during lecture, he goes back and forth between ideas and is all over the place during lecture. i never went to lecture, only CLAS. CLAS is extremely helpful. his practice tests are nothing like the real tests.bad teacher overall.
The dude cant lecture. The class is easy enough but I recomend CLAS. You wont get a lot out of his lectures.
There's absolutely no point in going to lecture. He's super boring and has zero confidence in himself. Just sign up for CLAS and go to that, you'll be fine. Only has 5 quizzes, no midterms or final. Plus, no hw
He didn't speak in complete sentences and his handwriting was so hard to read, I had no idea what went on in his class. But did anyone noticed how good looking he is? I thought he was hot even when he had a beard, and now that he has shaved you can better tell what a pretty face he has. The poor guy has bad razor burn tho. He is hella nice too.
good teacher, very clear, helps out a lot when you go to his office hours, also lenient w/ grading
Powerpoint slides are his main tool for teaching the class. Midterm was easy and the final was hard. He told me that he made the final hard because there were too many A's and B's in the class. If you go to office hours do not expect much help. By far the worst teacher I have had here at UCSB
He tries his best to make the class somewhat interesting by placing random pictures up on his slides. The material before the midterm is easy, but after the class really picks up in speed and complexity. The final was really difficult, but that's because this class is required for a lot of majors. The overall class was just OK, nothing too spectacu
Boring class, he tried to make it more interesting by putting random pictures of things in his powerpoint. His teaching was OK nothing special about the class
The midter is very easy, and the quizzes are not hard either. As long as you do the problems, you should be fine. I guess most people do so well in this class, the curve is really really high, so you gotta to do your best to get an A in this class, which is not very easy.
This class started out SUPER easy, especially the midterm, but the final was so hard. I studied really hard, and a lot, but I still think I failed. Carter's ok, he can be really dull sometimes, and he goes fast on slides and doesn't have his lectures online so you're pretty much on your own. Eh.
Class is pretty easy. Starts out with info that we learned in like Jr. High. Get's a little harder after the midterm though and he confuses you a lot. I learned a lot more from my TA than from him, but I do like his tests and I like that he gives you all the formulas. Not very enthusiastic person either.
Prof. Carter is really good at explaining the concepts, but isn't terribly exciting. The tests are not bad because he really prepares you for them so you know exactly what to study. A couple times he has shown his silly side by putting a funny pic on his power point slides. Nice guy
Not the most entertaining lecturer, but it's the stats, not him. He is pretty clear with the material and is fair. Won't make you feel dumb if you ask questions in class, and he's very helpful in his office hours.
Good professor. All the homework, tests, and grading are very fair. He doesn't spoon feed everything though, so be prepared to do studying by yourself. Best way to do well, do all the problems on the homework, and KNOW them. That'll guarantee you an A
Very clear professor. Very helpful. I found him to be a very good professor. Do all your homework, and study all your homeworks and past tests and you will do fine. Midterms together are worth more than the final alone. He's very nice.
