It was not hard to do well in this class you just have to be ready and willing to participate and put effort in.

Professor Jamieson is very nice, definitely passionate about what she teaches. Only one lecture per week despite GOLD showed two. Grade was based on two to three homework assignments per week, a midterm and a final (both online), and iclicker. Super easy to get 100% as long as you complete everything with decent quality.

Professor Jamieson is super passionate about what she teaches. Always enthusiastic and helpful. The material in this course is straightforward and the exams don't hurt your grade too much if you do badly, as long as you complete other work. Some busy work but easy to understand and pass! Would take this course again.

80 bucks for a class. Lazy professor, as seen from her lack awful curriculum. Hardly replies to emails. Pretty hypocritical that she puts in 0 effort into teaching but expects it from her students by assigning unnecessary assignments. Doesn't realize that no one takes her class seriously. 0/5 stars

If you think it's okay for anyone to pay 80 bucks for mcgraw hill for a HEALTH class take this course. It's not even a required class to take, that's not worth it at all... and for all these review I am seeing means it's not a great class either. If you make students pay for an online course you have no heart.

There are many words on all the slides and the exact lectures are posted online anyway making it very easy to skip the actual class. Midterms and final are online and open note. It is an easy class but does not fulfill anything and is time consuming because there are weekly assignments.

Easiest class I have ever taken at ucsb, she's really passionate about what she teaches and her lectures always kept me awake because they were actually interesting. Only one lecture a week and the rest is online. The only thing I didn't like was that you had to buy an $80 online book to do the homework quizzes but other than that amazing class

3 unit class but took more time than all 3 of my 4 unit classes combined. 25 question quizzes each week. Half of the quiz questions had multiple questions within each question (matching, fill in the blank). The quizzes took me at least an hour to complete each time. Way too much content in this class. She doesn't answer questions in email.

This class just has so much homework its hard to even keep track of it all. I felt like I was in high school with the amount of busy work. None of it is very hard but its time consuming for only being a 3 credit course. Not my fav.

This class is VERY hard for a 3 unit, lower division class. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS UNLESS YOU REALLY LIKE NUTRITION. There was so much reading and so many little random assignments, as well as an excessive amount of lectures. You also have to buy a $100 online course thing to even take the class after paying for the class itself so thats whack.

I didn't mind this class, there was a lot of work, but it was manageable and does not take very long to complete each week compared to other classes. She's a sweet lady and you can tell she enjoys teaching the class. I would recommend it if you enjoy the subject, although it does not fill any requirements.

Lectures are the most important.

I didn't take the course but my girlfriend did. She got A- because the grade was not rounded. So I come here to rate the professor for her. The workload is not that fair for a 3 credit course. Every weekend I could see my girl working hard for it.

Lots of virtual textbook reading that is hard to digest and a lot of outside-of-class work for a 3 unit class. Lots of homework as well. My 4 and 5 unit classes have much less work - ESS does not even fill any GE's as well...

Prof Jamieson is one of the best teachers I have had so far. I loved this class and learned so much I am definitely taking another one of her classes. She mainly focuses on easy to digest lectures and the textbook is supplemental but helpful. I felt well prepared for the midterm and final. Weekly discussions and check your understanding quizzes.

This might be a biased post because I love nutrition already but this class was really fun and informative. She's a kind lady herself and will help you with any concept in office hours. Midterm and Final questions come straight from the lectures so take good notes. Her lectures are short and to the point so it's not dreadful. Take her!

I took this class during fall 2020 and it was easy. All you have to do is stay on top of textbook readings and complete the busy work assignments. The lectures are super short, but surprisingly informative. I'd recommend this class.

Jamieson was fine, although her lectures were pretty boring but usually not dreadfully long. There is a ton of information you basically have to memorize with this course, but most of what was on the exams she covered in her lectures so just skimming the textbook should be fine. Not a super exciting class but not super hard to get an A.

Amy is super understanding, especially during the pandemic. Her class mainly consists of doing discussions, assignments, quizzes, and small research on fast food items. There is a midterm and final that uses proctorio, but she allows you to use one sheet of notes. Don't take advantage of her niceness and don't skip over readings, they're useful.

Jamieson is pretty decent! Her class was completely ASYNC this year and she still managed to make sure directions to do well in the class were clear. The lectures were a bit long and heavy, though

this would be considered a good class to take if professor Jamieson was not teaching it. Given we are in the middle of a pandemic, and our classes are enclosed to merely 6 weeks, the workload was quite excessive. Let's try to be understanding toward student's circumstances during these times.
