Gina is awesome. I've taken 109EC and 109L from her and couldn't recommend her more. She's one of the most friendly, most approachable, smartest, and most caring professors at UCSB. 109EC is a ton of work, but it is incredibly useful and satisfying (you work with a group to produce a 80 page business plan). 109L is a bit tedious, but still useful.
Gina is a great, nice, down to earth professor. But it's more about the class here (109EC). It will take an enormous chunk of time out of your schedule planning and writing (a good) business project. Plan on spending hours upon hours on this class.
as previously stated, this is probably the most relevent if not one of the most relevent and useful classes you will ever take. With that said, is incredibly time consuming and difficult and could probably be taken by itself and still take up a majority of your time. Genova is one of the best teachers ever. Be prepared to earn your grade though
Super time consuming but it's incredibly useful and relevant. You gain a lot out of it, even if it's just something minor like how to write a resume like a nice real one, or how to interview. She's not easy but it's more the class than the teacher
109EC Business Writing was a very useful class. TOUGH grading. Stay on top of assignments from the begining. If you do so, you can earn an A. DO NOT slack on the business proposal.
Writ 109ec... the material is straightforward. there are a few small assignments, but the bulk of your grade is the group business plan. I got an A, but I put more work into this class than I have for any other.
This class was very useful, taught me alot. Hit the ground running, since the beginning assignments are worth alot of the final grade. Get a good group for the business plan. Genova is a very good teacher, she's clear and teaches you what you need to know for the assignments. Stop by office hours, she is very helpful. Grading was tough, but fair.
I thought I was going to kill myself having to take this course but Genova makes the class as exciting as it can be. All in all the class was a lot of work but she makes it fun and is fair in her grading. Your grade will reflect the amount of work you put into it...
Genova is a GREAT professor. Her assignments are fair and she is excellent at explaining them and makes sure you understand. Interesting material, fair grader extremely helpful. Most of her assignments are a lot of work but she lets you pair up with other classmates. Thought this class would be brutal but she made it so enjoyable and shes funny
This class was brutal! I took it last winter, and i'm telling you right now, get ready for deadly assignments. no I am not being sarcastic. the class is too small which is also intimidating when you are with the people. small classes suck! trust me, this was not a fun class in my opinion. it is tedious material and centers around CVC codes.
A lot of presonality and always bring fun to the class. She is pretty clear and her assignments are not hard to get it don't by the deadline. Very willing to help and talk to the students, even though after the class. Love her smile and enjoy her class!! =)
Very helpful class for those that are entering the legal field. Great teacher who goes out of her way to help. So sweet, I loved her and this class
Pregnant people should not teach. And I was totally tricked! I didn't know that there were different writing 50s.
A good teacher to get if you plan to go into a legal field. Very nice person.
"A's at UCSB are easy to get" LOL! Yea in sociology or global studies. Try it in accounting. Get over yourself! Now, as for the class, Genova is a very fair and concise teacher. She will go the extra mile to help students. Come to class, meet the deadlines and you'll be fine.
I had this teacher three years ago and now I'm at Hastings and doing fine in part because she taught me how to analyze. To the one guy who gave her a bad rating: get over yourself! I would think you were kidding, except that you rated her poorly. I sincerely doubt you were the smartest person in that class or any class. A's at UCSB are easy to get.
easygoing, friendly, and helpful. extremely understanding that you've got a life outside of school. if you are wondering if you want to be a lawyer, take 109L with her. by the end of it, you'll have a pretty good idea. i'd love to take another class of hers, and grab a drink with her afterward.
A little vague in her assignments. But overall a great prof. I recommend her.
Prof G is AMAZING - best teacher I've ever had. In law school now and wouldn't have gotten this far without her. If you take any class at UCSB, take one with her. . . she will change your life.
Nice lady, bad grader. Got an A- in the class even though I was by far the smartest guy in the class. Go figure.
she's funny and easy going. you can even turn in hw via e-mail. she's not strict about the deadlines on those at all. but the final project is a lot of work, don't start on the last minute.
Awesome writing teacher. Not only is she an intelligent writing prof but she is a practicing lawyer and seriously knows her stuff. Highly recommended
