Very informative and useful, but if you're not good (exceptional...outstanding...excellent) at memorization, you may not like it. They require you to memorize a lot of information. There are three midterms and a cumulative final, so it's like you're always studying for this class and even then it doesn't seem like it's enough.

Great and informative class. One of the most useful classes I've ever taken. More difficult than expected. Info not hard to learn but you have memorize A LOT of it for tests.

GREAT class! It CAN be a difficult class but there is no confusion on what you need to study. Go to the workshop offered in the 2nd week in CLAS (helps w/ taking the tests) and the review sessions (unless you can find someone who has them from previous quarters). Attending lectures makes the class much easier! Janice & John are VERY knowledgeable!

More difficult than you would expect, but lectures were really entertaining. Come away with some good information you probably wont forget like you do for other classes. Take it before you leave UCSB

Overall the class was not bad. Three midterms spaced about 2 weeks apart and then the final. The final however is where it gets diffficult because it "covers everything about equally". Being vague about what's on the final exam can only hurt students, not help b/c I spent most of my time studying for this final, ignoring other finals I had.

Him and Janice (his wife) are very knowledgable... entertaining and informative. The exams can me difficult if you don't attend lectures or do any of the readings, which are interesting because there is so much to learn about human sexuality. Great class, everyone should take it!!!

Him and his wife are GREAT. They know their material trully want students to know it and apply it. You definately need to study for 3 midterms and a final, but it's worth it. It's one of those FEW classes at UCSB that offers material, actually useful in life!!! I loved it and loved the professor-if you need upper division course, this would be it

Mr. and Mrs. Baldwin are so cute!! I loved this class--it was so entertaining. They are good at role playing situations and really bring a lot of humour to this subject.

Great class. Wasn't an easy A but I really enjoyed the class.

Best class I've ever taken!

Sociology of Human Sexuality is one of the best classes offered at UCSB.

The Baldwins are great. The material is interesting and informative. If you attend class 70% of the time and skim through the book it should be an easy A. Not too much work involved. If you know your own body and took any kind of sex ed, it should just expand on the knowledge you already know.

greaaat class. i loved it. MAKE SURE U ATTEND those study sessions, the information they give you make up 90% of the tests. overall, the class was very interesting. i never missed a lecture because the lectures were so fun to attend...other than the guest speaker ones.

Great class, very entertaining, funny guy.

Tests are easy if you have memorized literally every piece of info he tought in lecture and wrighting. don't waste time wrigting paragraphs bullet points will do.

Not an easy A like people might think. But the lectures are enojyable and if you go to them and the review sessions before the midterm and do the reading you will do well. I did all that and got an A!

He is an amazing teacher and all of his classes are equally amazing. He requires a lot of studying and a lot of learning, so if you are lazy, do not take him. If you want to learn, he is the best teacher you will ever have.

Amazing class. Everyone who lives in Isla Vista should take it.....

Best professor I've had at UCSB! If you don't take a class with him, you will really miss out. The classes might not be easy but he'll be glad to help you if you go to his office hours. Trust me, you will never fall asleep in his class!

the test are hard

Very interesting course and I liked John a lot. The tests were tough and you really have to do the reading, but its worth it.
