Not too hard, not too easy. I enjoyed his class.
Professor Koutroulakis is amazing! Hands down best physics professor. He makes the material very easy to understand in lecture and really breaks it down. He actually stops to answer students' questions and explains the reasoning. I hate physics but he made me really look forward to studying the material and attending lecture. 12/10 recommend
I didn't really care for George not as good as Freud! His lectures are organized and interesting but he doesn't do enough practice problems during lecture which screws you over. He does care about the students and answers all questions asked in lecture. Just make sure you know what you are doing because the practice exams posted are usually easier.
The class is challenging but he is an awesome lecturer and very prepared and organized. He is also very nice and funny, would definitely take him again
George gives excellent lectures and hard exams. He concentrates more on practical things and do a lot of experiments in lectures. For students who have to take his course, it is highly recommended to review vector calculus thoroughly.
2nd best physics professor (apart from freund). He's very caring and helps a lot during office hours. Tests are straight forward but you definitely need to know what you're doing
I came for the iClicker questions but I stayed for those glorious knit sweaters. He is very organized and prepared for every lecture, but somewhat too formal in my opinion. His dedication and care for teaching is evident even though the material isn't always clear.
He's a really nice and caring professor and he would answer all the questions. Although his tests are hard and he does curve on grade, you would get an A if you follow him.
One of the best professor's I've had for physics at UCSB. He is very thorough in lecture and he will not put anything on the midterm that he has not gone over in lecture. The questions on the exams were simpler than the questions on the MasteringPhysics. Exams are a mixture of about 25-30% MC and the rest free response. Helpful office hours.
Prof. Koutroulakis is the best physics professor I've had at UCSB! He lectures well and clearly tries very hard to help you understand. Tests are very difficult but are fairly graded.
Dr. Koutroulakis is by far the best physics instructor I've had: his lectures actually covered everything on his exams, and he actually put thought into the course structure. Although TAs handled grading the exams, Dr. Koutroulakis encouraged us to review the exams with him to ensure that everyone was graded fairly. Free response isn't scary!
Tough Grader! Don't take his class!!!!!
