This class was amazing, please take him if you can. You will love his class and he is handsome.

This is the 2nd class I've taken with Mark and I genuinely enjoyed it so much. The content is really interesting and the class is engaging. The basis of the class is creating an NBA franchise and arena. It was fun and a very doable class, easy to get an A if you show up and do the work.

Orlando is by far the most relatable, realistic, and understanding professor I've had. ESS130 was a great class. When taking a class with him, he details exactly what you need to do to get an A, and he offers any help you may need constantly throughout the quarter. Aside from that, he is passionate about what he does and it shows in the class.

Mark is an amazing professor and his enthusiasm for ESS is present during every lecture. His last lecture was one of the best I've sat through as he gave us an inspirational lecture on his past and life after college. Great professor and an easy A as he lets the class take the midterm and final together. Only "hard work" is the group project.

Professor Orlando left an amazing impact on me. He’s a very caring and understanding professor. During his last lecture he gave us an amazing and impactful lesson about our future. AMAZING professor!!! Take his class if you can! He’s an amazing teacher that truly cares about his students.

Took his class and it was not easy or a well taught class. He is not organized and never responded to emails. Lots of group work

Mark is literally the greatest professor I have EVER had at UCSB. He is available at all times and even gives you his personal phone number to reach out. Only 2 exams (which you can also make up 1 if you do bad) and a group project. Course content is very interesting and presented very well. Do yourself a favor and take a class with him.

Super helpful when it came to submitting things late. He didn't necessarily care if you turned things in late or not, as long as you understood what you were doing. Don't be afraid to email him- he's the nicest professor I've had in a long time!

makes us use proctorU & often goes off topic. bad teaching style & is hard to get a hold of outside of class. not worth it

I have taken a few courses from Professor Orlando, and I have loved all of them. A lot of the information learned in the class is very applicable to everyday life. It is also clear how much he cares about his students; he truly teaches for them. I would recommend anybody to take his classes primarily because of his passion for the subject.

Dr. Orlando was one of my favorite professors I have ever had at UCSB. This class was super engaging and I loved fantasy aspect, was really fun. Two tests but he gives helpful practice quizzes and he offers redos. Do good research and you will have a good survey. As long as you take advantage of the resources Dr. Orlando provides you can get an A

Dr. Orlando is a great professor, very helpful, easy to follow, and available. He makes sure you have the information you need to navigate his class successfully and also makes himself available when needed. I'n not sure what the people with the low ratings are talking about, Dr. Orlando does not teach his class that way.

Three assignments and a final. Had no idea what he was talking about for half the assignments. Got a B but the way he teaches and lectures is not of quality

Dont do it. Awful teacher, grading policy isnt clear and hard to reach outside of class. Never responds to emails and he uses ProctorU. Just dont

I am currently taking Mr. Orlando's class and he is one of my favorite professors, not only at UCSB but out of any schooling I've done. He is very genuine and dearly cares about each student. As for the class, he gives you everything you need to succeed and as long as you take notes and pay attention in lecture, you should at the least get a B.

Mark is an outstanding professor who genuinely cares about each and every student. He goes above and beyond to help and support each student by going as far as to give out his personal phone number, how crazy is that! Words can't express how awesome Mark is so please take one of his classes and see for yourself.

Mark exemplifies what a means to be a professional in every sense of the word. The combination of his energy, and in depth understanding of the sports world make for a memorable student experience. His courses challenges you to critically think and promotes teamwork for future career endeavors. I would highly recommend enrolling.

The best professor i've ever had. He's called the people's champ for a reason. Must take! His classes are interactive and very interesting. He is also a beast and will help you at any time. He even gives out his phone number to text him in case you have any questions. Orlando is the real MVP

Mark is hands down the best professor ever! He gives his students every resource possible to succeed. He understands that students pay a lot of money for classes and therefore makes the class for you. Mark is just an all around incredible human and being in his class will uplift your life. Do your part and theres no reason not to get an A+.

Super easy literally just show up and participate and youll be chillin. You can prob get the A if you put some effort into the paper. test are easy just pay attention on the reviews and take some notes. 2 tests and paper. He allows retakes which is a huuuuge plus
