Not the most exciting professor around but still a good teacher. Lectures are kind of dull sometimes and other times there good. The class is also not that difficult as long as you put in time and effort.
Lectures are boring. Weekly online quizzes that are pretty difficult but you can do them with a friend. Surprised I got an A in the class b/c I barely did the reading. The only good this is the extra credit from doing iclicker.
Boring class. Not difficult with just two 5-6 page papers making up the majority of your grade. Reading material was for the most part was dry and boring to read.
Most boring class ever. Took it instead of WRIT 50; waste of time. Didn't learn anything, but I fulfilled the GE. Two papers and other assignments for each paper. Do the online quizzes with a group! Relatively easy overall, however.
The lectures are incredibly boring. There are no tests, only two papers worth 45% of your grade. But the TA's grade easy on assignments and quizzes are an easy A if you have a study group. If you go to lecture, bring a Gameboy.
Her class was one of the most boring classes ever. During lecture she drags on about useless points of the readings. The only got part was you didn't even need to do the readings since it was only papers, no midterm or final.
Mandatory attendance at both lecture and section. I think four online quizzes and two papers and two additional outlines were the amount of work in this class. It wasn't difficult, just time consuming and your grade depends on if you're TA liked your papers. Lectures were boring and i DON'T recommend taking this with her.
She tries...but this is a UC, trying isn't good enough. she's disorganized and it shows in her lecture. It's a jumble with poetry, literature...it gets repetitive, and the TA's just want to kiss ass , so most make as much sense as her. I taught myself and managed to get a B...so, if you HAVE to take her, take lots of Notes from your TA
i took this class to replace writing 50. lecture was boring, attendance was mandatory- iclicker participation. no final, the grade was based on essays- my ta liked mine so i did well. tons and tons of reading. the prof is a sweet lady, but not a good lecturer. her honors seminar eng 10S was really good though!
Very disorganized. VERY DRY. The class made me hate poetry. Not very engaging lectures. Spends way too much time trying to make iclickers work in class and asking questions. Iclickers used for attendance points.
She does take attendance and if you miss a lecture you miss important information. But if you do the reading you should be fine and she clarifies everything in lecture. This class was challenging enough to be interesting but not difficult if you understand basic concepts. She's very organized and willing to help when needed.
My word. She is difficult and wants perfection while at the same time providing complete confusion. I got an A in one class and a C in another. Very... frustrating.

So disorganized! You never know how she'll grade or when she'll give your work back, it takes forever. Oh and that website project was ridiculous. Class was boring but easy.
She's a great teacher! Sure she's a little dissorganized but who cares! Her class overall was interesting, lectures were good, and she does offer plenty of help and suggestions when you need it and ask.
This teacher was so terrible that I don't even know where to start complaining about her. She did not have anything organized. It was a really easy class, though. Lecture was terrible... I wanted to stab myself in the eye several times. She thinks everyone is an expert in her field and lectures in this way as well. Brace yourselves!
This class was so disorganized! There was no overall theme, it took her a long time to get our work back, the class was boring, and she is very unhelpful. This is also unrealistic; for instance, she gave us a website project to do and didn't give any info until 4 days before it was due.
Interesting history of publication. She is willing to help once she gets to know you, offers lots of suggestions for completing the assignments.
Professor Pasternack is a wonderful teacher. She is very willing to get to know her students and also chooses interesting topics. As if that wasn't enough our final exam was going over to her house where she made us breakfast and we discussed our papers
She's kind of disorganized and it's pretty hard to know how she's going to grade, and she's got a lot odd ideas, but the material she chooses is pretty interesting.
