Made me want to come to lecture, i previously did not feel the need to come to lecture with my other ochem prof but he makes it fun, interesting and is worth your time going to.clearly states main points and what we need to know and what we should be learning tests a little tricky and difficult but overall a great professor, cares about his students

I LOVED this class. Dr. Lipshutz made me want to change from a bio major to a chem major. All O-Chem classes are a lot of work, but if you put in the effort it definately pays off in the end. Do his vitamin problems, go to CLAS and make flash cards. If you actually want to learn something, take his class!

The lecture is very unclear. The key point about lecture is the clear understanding of all student not just himself.

funny guy but seems like he tries to make an exams so hard, so that student could not receive a good grade. He assigned homework problem in the text, but it has never appears on the exam. Some of my friends having a mental depression after taking his course.

had bl 2 qtrs. the guy is great. if you are a chem major this is the guy you want to learn from, especially if you are interested in synthesis. the stuff he hammers will stay with you, and it is very useful. the details he emphasizes are important, whether you know it yet or not. gr8 guy too.

He is really smart, and a great instructor. Ochem is hard, so go to class. If you get the pleasure you should take his class. Bruce is one of the greatest minds at UCSB. If you think that you are smart and dont have to go to class then you dont deserve the opportunity. He is a great teacher helpful

This guy was tuff, but fair with the final. Study and Practice a lot (ie Syn Probs, etc on Paper). I had C's on the tests, but aced the final and got an A. Practice Practice and CLAS definetly helps out.

There is no doubt that he's a brilliant guy... and he tries to be entertaining during lecture too. Course is tough though...and lecture can be confusing to follow at times.

Entertaining lecturer, but tough class. Has a hard time understanding why students average less than 50% on tests. Best bet is to approach during office hours and hit him up one on one with unclear topics.
