I'm a Junior and I have never been so confused on the first day of a class. She uses words that you would only know if you are an art major. Lecture is mandatory and roll is taken by answering reading questions. Readings are posted late the night before. Listening to lecture is painfully long and confusing. It's never clear what you need to know.
Prof. Badamo's class isn't the worst class I've taken at UCSB, but it's definitely around there. Lectures really sucked. She used a lot of art history jargon, switched from piece to piece without any real reason, and ran over time EVERY lecture. Either don't take a class with her or P/NP. Save yourself the headache.
Professor Badamo is hands down the WORST professor I have ever had at UCSB. She has no idea how to lecture, and rambles on in incoherent circles using academic art jargon that she never explains. The tests are ridiculously hard, section is not helpful, & attendance is required in section AND the 500-person lecture. AVOID THIS CLASS AT ALL COSTS!!!!
Professor Badamo wasn't one of the worst teachers I've had at UCSB - she was THE worst teacher I've had ever. She skipped over tons of material, was completely disorganized, and always condescended down to her students. I swear if I have to hear the phrase "tour de force" one more time, I'm going to lose it. One paper, a midterm, and final.
This professor has ridiculously high expectations for her students without setting a good example herself. Her lectures are long and lack clarity, and paced horribly. Course material (homework/readings) is often posted late. Also doesn't excuse absences for illness, even with doctor's verification. Overall disorganized and unprofessional.
Worst class I have ever taken at UCSB. She doesn't give you time to prepare for homework, changes assignments last minute. She expects ridiculous effort for a GE course. Scattered and unclear lectures.
Professor Badamo was one of the worst teachers I've had at UCSB. Her lecture outlines are countless pages long, her lectures are long and lack clarity. She assigns a lot of homework and you can't even be saved by your section grade. Section grade matches test grades, so if you got a bad grade, you're out of luck. Look for a different GE class.
One of the worst professors I have had. Horrible lecture style and leaves out some main content of the course. Her wording is unnecessary but she thinks it makes her seem more eloquent . She reads right off her lecture slides and outline. FInd a different teacher.
Professor Badamo posted the homework due today (Thurs) at 9 PM last night (Wed). It is a perfect example of her flaky teaching style and skills. No more needs to be said. Don't take her classes.
Professor Badamo, quite frankly, does NOT know how to lecture or structure a class. Her lectures are painfully rehearsed (including her "jokes"), yet the lectures still severely lack continuity and clarity. Her assignments are 100% busywork and she makes passive-aggressive comments about the class during lecture. Stay away from this class!!
