You watch old movies mostly and some weird ones but you also get to choose which ones you want to analyze for reviews and papers. This class takes time and work but it's kinda fun too.

Hes really nice and you do a lot of activities so its not boring BUT theres A LOT of writing. I had to work hard. I had fun though and learned some things. If you work hard and grammar is good you can get an A. But I know people who didn't get an A because of grammar and other things. But you learn things that help your writing.

Literally one of the best professors at UCSB. I took Writing 2 with him and now I am taking an upper division writing class with him. He is such a genuine and respectful guy. Class discussions are interesting and assignments are very open and creative. Go to class and do the discussion forums (which are fun to do) and you will definitely get an A.

Christian is one of the best professors I've had in my four years at UCSB. Such a kind soul and actually assigns cool readings/ assignments. He's very interested in what students want to write about. Seriously, I wrote two papers on Game of Thrones. It was awesome. Wish I could take more classes with him.

Not a harsh grader, very accessible. I always looked forward to his class. Workload very manageable, if you do what is assigned you will probably get an A.

Seriously the nicest instructor I have ever had! He gave us very interesting, reasonable and accessible reading materials, usually about video games or things going on in mass media. He made the class actually enjoyable, which isn't easy with writing! you'll want to hug him

First of all, I am an international student from a non-English country. Professor really helped a lot. His lecture is so much fun and he is very open and supportive for your own opinions. He is very encouraging and he gives everyone a good grade for our papers. Take his class if you can. It is life-changing.
