Kara Mae is so sweet and was really accommodating during the pandemic. Because of this, attendance wasn't completely mandatory but I recommend you still go to class. You're graded based on peer reviewing your classmates essays and a writing project. I learned a lot from this class but you do need to put in the work if you're trying to get an A!
Professor Brown was wonderful. She accommodated for us a lot and switched the course to being completely online because of how our class decided. Very sweet and kind and makes sure you understand the criteria of her projects and how she grades them. Participate in your assignments and you'll do great!
Professor Kara is so nice. I got an A this semester. Not a tough grader. Not too much homework. Participation is not mandatory.
Took WRIT 2 during summer. I understand that no one likes to learn/teach during summer but I feel that through this almost completely asynchronous course, I didn't learn much. There were also tons of asynchronous work each week to keep us busy but I feel that it was just stressful and unnecessary.
You will get the grade you deserve in this class based on the effort you put in. There are frequent readings, but a good skim through them is fine. I recommend reading them, not only for the grade but because they are genuinely interesting (coming from a person who hates reading). Super helpful, interesting, and fun. Ur view on writing will change.
Great professor. Learned lots about writing and enjoyed it too because of her enthusiasm for the subject.
She cares so much about us. She grades hard and expects a lot but at the end your writing will improve tremendously.
Brown was super bubbly. She's really passionate about what she teaches. She's definitely a tough grader and likes to do a lot of group discussions which really helps understand some of the readings. No midterm or final but three papers that make or break your grade. Expect to spend all of your free time writing. Only need the course reader.
Kae Mae was one of the best teachers that I have ever had. She was never anything other than helpful and insightful. You can tell that she puts thought and effort into her syllabus. Papers are frequent, readings are easy and mostly short. Put in effort and you'll get the grade that your writing deserves.
Smith is a very good teacher and an expert in matrix analysis. Lectures were very polished, however some of the in-class examples were very difficult to understand. Seems that he has changed the format of this class and homework/tests are quite reasonable. Watch out though, the final had a lot of computation.
Smith is one of those rare professors who knows how to bring real-world experience to the classroom. He really knows his stuff and is an awesome instructor.
Don't buy the textbook. Lots of drafting that is based on cleanliness, and precision. Project due every week, time consuming, not really worth the 2 credits. Should be worth 4 for all the work. Ron was cool, super bald, I'd take a class with him again but I don't want to do the work.
--worst professor i have seen.--teaches maths with powerpoint. can you imagine you being taught matrices and linear algebra using ppt slides??--ridiculous.
Expects A LOT from students, and assigns massive home works that really demands a lot of work. Seems a little out of touch with the academic level of the students. Not too hard on grading.

Smith is a bada$$ and takes no crap from students. Knows material very well and has a lot of experience to put it into a practical context. Doesn't seem to care if students understand, however uses this leverage to put more (advanced) interesting ideas forth. Assigns a lot of work-prelabs to be turned in before lab. Tests are absolutely insane.
