went to class lit as fk and just used the study guides, great teacher take his class!!
Busto is a great, smart lecturer; he makes the subject interesting. he gives you a study guide for the midterm/final so if you study off those you'll get an A. skim the readings for section (mandatory!) and go to lecture b/c he doesn't put his rare slides online. great class!
Awesome professor. Great lecture and very passionate about his subject. Easy class, but still very very interesting. Great class to take for an easy A, but also a great class to take, period.
Lectures are really easy to listen to; just remember to take notes of lectures and be attentive to the reading. Reading is short for the most part but genuinely interesting and falls in well with lecture topics. Section participation is mandatory.
Chill professor overall. He sometimes goes a bit off topic, but nothing major. Lectures are heavy and can be boring, but attendance at sections and reviewing slides matter. The midterm and final were very easy just use the study guide and a good TA helps. Not what I expected, but still an easy GE.
Rudy is the most chill guy ever, the lectures are super fun and interesting and you can tell hes passionate about what he thinks. He's pretty disorganized but who cares, this class isn't rocket science. If you attend the lectures and take notes you'll do fine. Also TA Kelsey was super helpful, especially to remedy Rudy's disorganization.
Rudy is the most disorganized professor I think I've had. The study guides were given out right before the tests, and there were 3 separate ones with different answers, and one was AI! (Zerkxis is a TERRIBLE TA) The class is only graded on the midterm, final, and project. On the bright side, he's very funny, and his lectures aren't boring.
I love Rudy busto so much. I fear he is the most disorganized scatterbrain on the planet. Nonetheless he is a great lecturer if you like the topics at hand just don't expect to have anything assigned on time.
Dr. Busto is the most engaging professor I have had at UCSB, he spun Latino Religion, something I had no background and not a lot of interest in, to something I enjoyed writing a final paper about. If you come to class every day and make yourself known you won't regret it. Do the reading and assignments/writing is easy.
Good professor but very unorganized. We didn't have a syllabus until week 3, and even then, a lot of stuff was TBA. The lectures were okay; if you want to do good on papers, pander to him. He only wants to hear what he likes.
One of the best classes ever taken! The assigned readings were a few page articles that were about very interesting topics. The grading was very light and not about how good the paper was but that you followed his guidelines. He gave you the option of what kind of final you can write. A lot of creative liberty and room for open-minded discussion.
I took his First Contact class, and honestly it was one of the most fun upper divs I could have taken. The only thing is that he didn't use gauchospace to input grades throughout the quarter, so my only knowledge of my grades was from the hardcopy papers he would pass back. He respects the class's opinions and as long as you try you will do well.
Religion and Science Fiction. Signed up on a whim. Best course I've ever taken with the most interesting and philosophical prof ever. This was my first Reg Studies course but my mind was blown on a daily basis. So grateful for the opportunity to have had him as a prof. TAKE HIM!!!
This class is once a week and you have to read a book for every session. No tests. Only weekly responses and a 8-10 page essay at the end of class. Every week 3 students present the book for the entire class. Busto is amazing and gunny and always brings food for students in this seminar. He makes you think hard and makes you write harder. Great guy
Busto is awesome and this class has been by far my favorite class I've ever taken. He's really candid, but clearly respects student opinions and does a great job making the topics interesting. The class is about scifi and apocolypses, highly recommend taking this with him, you won't regret it!
Great professor, very animated and passionate about his material. Understanding and social with a very good sense of humor. If you get the rare opportunity to take Aztec Religion, take it! Extremely interesting class.
Great Profesor...funny and energetic. I would ighly recommend this class.
Busto was a good professor. He was obviously very passionate about the subject, which in turn made me more interested. Some times he was a bit scattered, but for the most part stayed on track. The class is not the most interesting of classes, but bearable. You have a super easy midterm, and a noncumulative final that is also pretty easy.

Professor busto is great!!! good job!! keep up the great work!
Encourages discussions and is open to new interpretations. He does not have much time for individual help, but gives his all for the class.
Busto is the****.
Busto is the best professor hands down at UCSB. he's cool, understanding, totally fair, funny too! His readings are all relevant and not overwhelming. he's awesome and his classes are really interesting.
