Worst econ professor ever! Actually! Had to send a email for making the first exam too hard out of 700 students the average was 12/20. She does not teach whatsoever just reads off the slides, tells us not to bother her during her office hours to bother our TA's. Practice problems and practice exams are nothing like the real exam. DO NOT TAKE!

Lectures went on and on, talking a lot but saying basically nothing. Think I'm going to switch my major because I don't think I can stand another Econ class if they're all like this, felt like I was being taught pseudo science by stupid people. Test were graded on how well I could guess what the prof was thinking she wrote them.

You will regret taking this professor. Take the Econ 1 class with BENZARTI. If you see this review and still take the class don't say I didn't warn you...

Nothing good about this professor. Horrible lecturer and the 3 tests are testing your riddle skills rather than actual econ topics. Average 12/20 for a class of 700 students is beyond terrible, and makes excuses trying to say its not her fault even though she's the one who makes the tests. Fits are so mid idk what the other reviews are saying.

Wording on tests are very weird and doesn't reflect your ability at Econ 1

The exam was too difficult

Extremely frustrating to be in this class. She speeds through her lectures. And don't get me started on the tests. She has a weird habit of thinking shes Shakespeare and wording the questions really confusing, so most questions are trick questions. She had to apologize for how hard she made the first test because people did so bad. DON'T TAKE!

Took this class first quarter as a freshman. DO NOT DO IT!! lectures go on and on. The professor lectures as if we already know the material and is a really fast paced class. Your whole grade depends on three exams. Class averages around 13-12 out of 20. Doesn't answer questions properly, makes exam process so complicated.

test questions are just meant to trick you feels like a im solving a riddle - concepts were easy but the test made it seem like I was taking spanish - shot good fits though icl

I honestly really like her (and her outfits!). She is a decent lecturer, I think the harsher ratings mostly come from the fact that her tests seem unfair and there was no curve. However, I think she compensated by making the last test MUCH easier. You get to drop lowest test, no final, just unit-like exams. Average 13.5/15ish per test for an A.

Everything was super straight forward. You take 4 exams and the worst one gets dropped. Attendence for lectures and sections was optional but recommended. It's really clear what grade you are going to get so grade is expected. Slides were very well made and lectures are good. I really enjoyed this class and I am missing her in Econ 2.

Alisa is definitely overhated. Her course was very straightforward and well organized. The grade is made up of 4 equally weighted, noncumulative tests and weekly practice questions that have unlimited attempts. The lectures were nicely done and easy to follow, with the class being fairly easy. Her heels are sharper than knives.

She teaches the class like she's too good to be there. Explains concepts like we are already supposed to have mastered them, and the tests did not reflect the practice problems and testing materials she provided. I would strongly advise you to avoid this professor if you are an Econ major and want a high major GPA.

Honestly, don't go to class and just review the slides on your own. The grading is very clear, however it's weird. There are 4 tests and the lowest one is dropped which means STUDY HARD FOR THE FIRST THREE. I wish I locked in harder earlier so that I didn't have to take the last test. Her questions are also harder than the other profs.

Lecture and section attendance not mandatory. Lecture slides have all the info on them so it's not crucial to attend. Homework quizzes can be taken as many times as you want. Material was quite confusing for me and tests were a lot harder than homework.

Sections aren't mandatory. Can submit hw and projects as many times as need to get full credit. Gives a lot of practice exam questions. Three midterms and final, 15 questions each and thirty minutes to complete (drop lowest score). Lectures can be fast-paced and midterms could have oddly phrased questions. Prof had fire fits though.

She is a horrible lecturer, she is convoluted, spends 20 minutes on the easiest stuff and no time on the hard stuff. She also wrote her test questions in a way that made them more of a riddle and figuring out what she was talking about not about the actual knowledge/topics. She just doesn't know how to teach.

Econ 1 was a breeze. Lectures are fast paced but content was easy to grasp. Sections aren't mandatory. You can submit homework and projects as many times as you want to reach full credit. Gives good practice exam questions. Three midterms + final (15 questions each) but you drop the lowest score. Minimal homework and I finished the class with 100%.

Goes through slides really fast, not the best explainer Lectures aren't mandatory so I learned better going through the lecture slides on my own at my own pace. Says the class will be curved then mentions on finals week it will not be curved?

She is very bubbly and funny, however very vague and not great at explaining literally anything. Goes so fast through lecture and the test questions are very unlike the practice and are so few questions it is hard to do well.

Class wasn't super difficult and she taught slides well. Put in a little bit of work and the class is fine.

My best exam grade was when I stopped going to lectures and taught myself from the slides. Going to class doesn't help. Exam questions were tricky but the practice provided was helpful. I'd recommend CLAS tutoring and finding a good TAs section if you're confused because Taz doesn't help a ton. Interesting class content and fair grading (mostly).

Cares more about what she has on then teaching Econ to students

I am not one to hate on a professor but she clearly doesn't care enough about student comprehension. She tells students she tries to make the exams harder and takes back her promise of a curve midway through the quarter. Slides are a mess and had me going to outside resources to understand. Some simple changes to this class it could be much better.
