HORRIBLE class! Subject is very boring and the teacher does not help the matter. Nice man, but makes no sense, doenst explain anything well enough to grasp, have never been so confused in a class! Unless you love ling. or have to take it, stay far away from this class.

Very good man and good teacher. However, linguistics has to be your thing or you won't enjoy the class. If you are into linguistics and languages, though, you should have no problem.

Schwartz is the Motha f---in man!! but his class was hard and made no sense.

He's an extremely interesting teacher, and his linguistics insights come fast and furious. Unforunately, these general musings sometimes get in the way of teaching the actual material of the class. He can also be a bit blunt. Very fun, though!

Incredibly hard to understand, constantly drifting off topic, made the class much harder than it would be had there been a better professor. Funny at first, then just annoying with his weird and strange jokes. Don't take.

Incredibly hard to understand, and isn't available out of classtime (doesn't email back). He's funny, but that doesn't help with understanding the material. Everytime he asked "ya follow?" and then kept going.. it was a definite NO!!!

A crazy old man. He's funny and he knows his stuff, but its sort of hard to follow his train of thought

He was nice and funny, the tests were harder than I thought they would be. Don't skip class.

Very nice man. I'd be his best friend if he were my age. Lectures are confusing, however. Makes things even worse with odd examples and frequently drifts off-topic.
