This was a great class and I thought Kelsey did a great job. My biggest issue was with my TA Robert who misgraded a lot of my work (I had to attend office hours and was able to get my midterm grade changed from 82% to a 97%).

A bit harder than 15A but still very manageable. Kelsey keeps the same formats for her classes (midterm, final, presentations, paper) so everyone was super expected by the time I took 15B. And like 15B, not much math or prior knowledge necessary so if you pay attention during lecture you can succeed.

Kelsey did a great job of making this class super relevant to environmental topics. This class is very friendly for anyone who hasn't taken chem or doesn't remember chemistry. in 15A the only math we did was balancing equations and some simple unit conversions. Tests were super manageable if you payed attention during class.

Professor Dowdy was such a wonderful professor. She was amazing in 15A and B, and her main goal in the class was making sure her students understood the material. She composes lectures that are easy to learn from, and shares her passion for environmental science and chemistry with her students. 100% would definitely take again!

My fav prof so far. Dowdy makes chem fun, relevant, & understandable. Huge emphasis on ability to explain/write out chem concepts, which is difficult but prof & TAs prepare you well. Class is super accommodating, no chem bg needed. Grade made up of several diff assignments, so midterm + final are lower stakes. Looking forward to rest of series!

Great class for people who aren't super familiar with chemistry. She's a great lecturer and listens to feedback but most importantly implements the suggestions that students have to make the class better. Very excited to take her B and BL next quarter.

I was nervous about taking Echem and ES60 but Dr. Dowdy is a phenomenal professor who is very aware of student's needs and is super sweet and caring. She explains concepts very thoroughly, pausing frequently to check our understanding. Posts slides after lecture, about an hour of hw per week. TAs Ray and Leah are also awesome.

Class is very easy to manage and interesting. There are weekly readings and lectures followed by quizzes on each. Quizzes are straight forward and open book. There are also 3 papers that are about 1000-1500 words each about self reflection and reading assignments. Goodwin and his TA's are also very caring and flexible and I enjoyed discussions

Professor Goodwin is one of my favorite professors at UCSB. He really cares about the success of his students and is willing to change the class schedule around in case students are overwhelmed or seem to benefit from a different due date. There are weekly reading quizzes, participation activities, and 3 papers, all of which are super easy.

Dr. Goodwin is SUCH an incredible professor because of his care for students and understanding. Two papers (very easy & short) were graded really easy. Basically, just show up, turn everything in on time, and you'll get an easy A (while actually learning helpful info too). 10/10 recommend Goodwin to students of all majors!

Dr. Goodwin is new at UCSB but he's an excellent prof! Very generous, compassionate, and open-minded. Went to his OH a couple of times just to vibe. 3 major papers, weekly quizzes, and participation activities. Sounds a lot but def manageable. Lots of readings so be sure to space them out!
