TERRIBLE PROFESSOR. He is probably a good guy, but I learned nothing at all from this class. I would only recommend this class if you want 4 easy units and take it pass/no pass. You are pretty much guaranteed a C as long as you go take all 3 exams. The 'final' (which is one of the 3 exams) is during dead week, so that is relieving.

terribly boring, i couldn't even hear what was coming out of his mouth, too much mumbling. section might help to clear things up.the class is alright, take it if u want an easy class, but it's UBER BORING i always leave class early, and i'm the type of person that goes to EVERY lecture of every class

As long as you take the three tests, you get a C. Great for pass/fail, but lecture can be boring. Section isn't mandatory.

Super easy, Super boring lecture. Don't have to go to lecture... but the guest lecturers were cool. Surprisingly made surfing culture seem boring, which it isn't.

Stuart's a cool guy. If you are really into surfing, you will enjoy this class. His lectures are dry.... but once again, if you have interest in surfing, this class should be a sinch. Great guest speakers too!

Sweeney is a great guy. The class is all over the place, and very hard to follow at times. The good thing about this class is the curve, I don't think he gives anything below a C. He may not be the best teacher, but if you're looking to just pass a class, this is the class to take.

Class about surfing sounds cool, but can get pretty boring at times, take notes and go to lecture you should do well.

Class is fairly boring until you get the hang of it. Wave and weather patterns ended up being really interesting if the time was put in to study it. Easy A, just study for a day before each test.

This course is all over the place. Incredible disorganization, poor teaching, surprisingly hard first test, but there's no final, and the class is about surfing.

Totally unclear, expecting too much, no idea what to study for tests, but you can still do well just cuz his curve is so insane

Lectures a bit boring, but all around a good prof., totally nice, smart guy. he wants his students to succeed....would definitely reccomend the class

Sweeney is a funny man but a bad teacher, very unclear and boring. How you could make surfing boring is beyond me! Tests are really hard but in the end he grades really easy; only gave out A's and B's. An easy 4 unit class...

The class seems interesting, but this guy is SO BORING. I thought he wasn't that bad, and I gave him a chance, but I really shouldn't have.

He is the smartest professor in the department and because of this it is often difficult to teach at the level of the students. If you dont understand something, ask him and he'll make it totally clear. A great professor overall and knowledgable about almost anything in human geography.

Never know what the hell he is saying in lecture and is a terrible professor. However, way easy grader-he only gave out As and Bs in the class and it was fun because it was all about surfing. Recommend the class but not the professor.

Hes a really smart guy, and pretty funny too. His class is fair, but its pretty hard. Essay tests are always a nice change of pace in the geog dept. The tests are pretty easy if you go to class

Smart guy. Not the most talented lecturer. Very very helpful during office hours. Just write a good paper and you'll ace the class.

Boring class! Waste of time!... take Sunbeck or Goodchild instead! Avoid Sweeney.. make you fall asleep!

Difficult to discern the relevance of his lecture to the course.

Hard work really does pay off with this Prof. who will teach you things that will stay with you into future courses.

Awesome sense of humor, but he makes what should be an easy subject pretty difficult. His tests are fair enough, though, and he curves. I hear the other Geog 5 teachers are easier, though

he has a very dry humor, but his tests aren't that bad--show up to lecture and you'll do fine...
