I definitely did not expect this class to be as much work as it was. I wish I had never taken it! There is alot of stuff that you have to know and they only test you on a very small portion of it. There are like 4 tests and they are all short answer and they are graded really harshly. My advice: If you don't have to, don't take it.

i dont get the negative comments, the baldwins were awesome and so cute! this class requires a lot of attendance and reading, but its interesting and well worth it.

Do not understand why this class is so popular. The Baldwins are really kind of creepy and don't offer any new or interesting perspectives on sex. There's no point going to lecture because all the tests are based on the reading. It's like high school sex ed, except now you have 100+ people laughing when the word "****" is mentioned.

cutest professors ever!! don't think that this class is going to be easy because it's about human sexuality. i never read but went to all the review sessions and managed to get by solely on those notes along with lecture notes. recommended class to everybody!!

Another positive review for the BEST professor of the most SOUGHT AFTER class on campus. The Baldwin's class should be REQUIRED! It is the most informative and wonderful class you could ever hope to take in college. Class is VERY POPULAR, so try hard to get in. 3 midterms - NOT EASY, but well worth the effort. DO THE READING!!

This class was extremely fun and interesting. If you like experiencing and talking about sex, then this class should be easy, if you're virgin to the idea of sex, it may not be the class for u!

Boring, not anything different than community college class...if anything less informative. Even used the same book. Expecting more from UD. Slipped traditonal views in without anyone seeming to notice. Basic & hard to take notes on vague info but then have specific tests &****final (specific!) Touchy feely. Great if you know nothing about sex!

The Baldwins rock. Class is surprisingly easy if you go to the lecture and read the material, which can be done in its entirety the night before the tests. Informative. Lots of memorization.

awesome profs, really make the class interesting, but they're tests are very hard, and they ask for specifics and detailed, so u have to study a lot.

Very informative and useful, but if you're not good (exceptional...outstanding...excellent) at memorization, you may not like it. They require you to memorize a lot of information. There are three midterms and a cumulative final, so it's like you're always studying for this class and even then it doesn't seem like it's enough.

Great and informative class. One of the most useful classes I've ever taken. More difficult than expected. Info not hard to learn but you have memorize A LOT of it for tests.

GREAT class! It CAN be a difficult class but there is no confusion on what you need to study. Go to the workshop offered in the 2nd week in CLAS (helps w/ taking the tests) and the review sessions (unless you can find someone who has them from previous quarters). Attending lectures makes the class much easier! Janice & John are VERY knowledgeable!

More difficult than you would expect, but lectures were really entertaining. Come away with some good information you probably wont forget like you do for other classes. Take it before you leave UCSB

Overall the class was not bad. Three midterms spaced about 2 weeks apart and then the final. The final however is where it gets diffficult because it "covers everything about equally". Being vague about what's on the final exam can only hurt students, not help b/c I spent most of my time studying for this final, ignoring other finals I had.

Him and Janice (his wife) are very knowledgable... entertaining and informative. The exams can me difficult if you don't attend lectures or do any of the readings, which are interesting because there is so much to learn about human sexuality. Great class, everyone should take it!!!

Him and his wife are GREAT. They know their material trully want students to know it and apply it. You definately need to study for 3 midterms and a final, but it's worth it. It's one of those FEW classes at UCSB that offers material, actually useful in life!!! I loved it and loved the professor-if you need upper division course, this would be it

Mr. and Mrs. Baldwin are so cute!! I loved this class--it was so entertaining. They are good at role playing situations and really bring a lot of humour to this subject.

Sociology of Human Sexuality is one of the best classes offered at UCSB.

The Baldwins are great. The material is interesting and informative. If you attend class 70% of the time and skim through the book it should be an easy A. Not too much work involved. If you know your own body and took any kind of sex ed, it should just expand on the knowledge you already know.

greaaat class. i loved it. MAKE SURE U ATTEND those study sessions, the information they give you make up 90% of the tests. overall, the class was very interesting. i never missed a lecture because the lectures were so fun to attend...other than the guest speaker ones.

Great class, very entertaining, funny guy.
