There was a lot of homework assigned, some which took over 24 cumulative hours to finish. Personally found his lectures to be even more confusing than his handwriting, which is already a challenge to decipher. Midterm average of 72% with mode of ~90%, so clearly he's doing something right. I guess I just didn't match well with his teaching style.

No, he isn't out to plummet your GPA to rock bottom(He wouldn't have stayed here this long with a bad rap). No, he is not necessarily a bad professor(Some people are doing well without any extra help). Yes, the material is quite difficult for many. Yes, it's possible to pass with a good grade. Yes, you may need extra help. Good, but could be better

There isn't a textbook and practically no syllabus! Plus, he has unrecognizable handwriting which makes it hard to read his handwritten notes and even harder to get what he is trying to teach. Together with 12 hours per week on homework is definitely mental torment. Good luck!

Lecture and homework are so hard, I could barely follow. Handwriting is hard to recognize. Need to attend every TA section possible.

Doesn't give you a syllabus first of all, which is completely ridiculous because you don't know where your efforts should be focused. Homeworks are absolutely insane and you have to have a system of group rotations to TA hours for the answers. Tests are actually pretty fair, however, but he does give you extra things to try and trick you.

I don't understand what's with all the negative comments. The homework isn't that bad because all the concepts are in the textbook that he literally wrote for us. If you can't do the hw ask the TA or don't do it at all cause the homework is only worth 10%. People say class is hard but the midterm avg was 65% which is good for a junior class.

HardYou can never finish the homework because that is too much and too hard.

Homeworks range from extremely difficult to impossible. Be prepared to spend over 10 hours on some problems. Lectures are sometimes very useful but often will not help on the homework in the slightest. Doesn't post a syllabus and says he can change the grading scale at any time. Not worth the stress if avoidable.

This is the first review I've ever left for anything in my entire life... Don't take a class with him, it will ruin your life. Homeworks are impossible and his teaching style is almost as bad as his hand writing. Midterm is in 10 hours and I decided to do this instead of study..

This class is so bad. Homework is impossible. Avoid at all costs. Drop out of Mechanical Engineering if you have to.

It's Monday of Week 4 and I am more lost than I ever have been in any other class. For starters, Bennett never gave us or posted a syllabus, so anything could change at the drop of a hat. That's barely a problem compared to the homework though. No one knows how to do it. Not the smart kids, not the dumb kids, not the cheaters, not even Chegg. Hard.

It's hard class, students thinks his lectures were bad only because they failed to commit a college level hard class as well as inability of understanding deeper concepts.

Bad at lecturing, but nice enough guy

Ted's homework is a lot of work. But if you put in the time and effort on the homework, you'll do well on the tests. His lectures run the gamut from extremely engaging and useful (anytime he explains broad concepts) to a serious struggle (trying to follow his convoluted algebra), but he mostly teaches well.

Bennett is a great teacher. He knows what he is talking about, and he loves what his teaching. He gives a quality lectures, but are really tedious sometimes. He is really nice guy and if you have a question, he is always willing to answer. But his HWs are ridiculously long and hard. His tests are fair and very similar to the HW questions.

The class is challenging and takes a lot of work. From what I've heard, though, Bennett is much better than the previous teacher--and this is his first quarter teaching it.

The worst class I have ever taken in my life. Avoid at all costs. Drop out if necessary. You are putting your sanity and life on the line if you take ME 151C. Prepare for 95 hours of homework every week, at least.

The subject material is very Hard. He does his best, and is good at explaining and clarifying things. lectures are well structured. You won't use the book much. Please, for the love of god, go to lectures or you will fail this class. Homework is very tough, exams are very tough. expect to derive things from scratch on the exam. fat curve at the end

Class was tough, but that's just the nature of the material. Good lecturer, was very nice about giving help outside of class.

He's a harsh grader, but will spend time much beyond office hours to help you if you've attempted to do work on your own, even just a little. And then at the end of the class there's a pretty big curve.

He is a nice guy who wants you to succed, but he doesn't make it easy. You need to be able to derive everything on tests and his homework is impossible. You could probably get an 'A' without the book, but don't miss a single lecture and take excellent notes.

He is a nice guy but a hard ass. His homework is outrageous and his tests are hard.

If you don't go to class, get lecture notes from someone else or you're gonna fail. He lectures on material that isn't even covered in the book. Don't write your name on the tests until he says so, otherwise, assume you're a kindergardener and embarrass you. Homework is hard and pointeless.
