He is one of the best professors I have taken and you can tell he is enthusiastic about the material he is presenting. Take his honors seminar if you can too. His tests are super straightforward just know all the experiments inside and out and how it relates to the question being studied. Only reading is a few articles rest of material is on slides
Totally unorganized, making the material which was clear in lecture more confusing. Many of the questions she writes dont feel fair and her grading policy is rigid for a 1 unit class. If you every have her, Im sorry
The actual worst, she overcomplicates the lab practicals to the point where they're more difficult and time consuming than the actual classes. The lab manual is disorganized and barely corresponds to lectures anyways. Probably the worst person they could have chosen to organize the intro bio labs.
If I could rate her a zero I would
The literal worst, the labs are completely disorganized and the practicals test on tiny details with not enough time to answer the questions. The manual is horrible, and there's no guidance on the research project. WAY too much work for 1 unit.
Amazing class and very interesting. He grades tough, but fair and the test are very concept based. If you try to simply memorize everything without understanding it you wont pass. Really interesting class and he wants you to learn.
Great teacher, funny and easy to understand!
Really good professor and makes it easy to listen and pay attention in class. Tests are pretty hard, you definitely have to know your stuff and be concise in your answers. He tells you the book is optional which is really nice because you don't need to worry about doing the reading on top of studying lecture slides.
Stu is one of the best professors here. He cares about the material and his students, and gets really into lecture. Grading on tests can be tough, and they're all short answer so be specific and get to the point. 2 midterms + final, no papers.
Dr. Clegg conveys the fascinating information presented in this course clearly. He is very involved in research but is also a great teacher. He is helpful and speaks to students with respect. He has high expectations from his students and the exams are difficult but fair. Also, take his stem cells course.
go to class and the tests are jokingly easy
Dr. Clegg, or Doc as you will get to know him by, is the best professor I have had at this school. This course is also the best I have ever taken; taught like a grad seminar, attendance is mandatory (and encouraged) but there is no final and the lectures (guests almost every class) are extremely interesting. Take this! And also MCDB 152 with him!
Feinstein is a great professor. You can really tell he is passionate about teaching this class. He makes everything interesting and clear. I actually found myself looking forward to this class and was sad it had to end. My favorite MCDB class by far.
Dr. Feinstien is a great professor. His class follows a chronological story of evolution of the nervous system. His slides are good at leading students toward the correct way of thinking, and his explanations are often very intuitive, yet straightforward. Take the honors section.
This class is his passion, and his enthusiasm is pretty infectious. You will have to go to class- posted slides online don't have everything he goes over
He is awesome. This class was so interesting and I'm pretty sure I'm changing to Cell Dev. partially due to this class. I really recommend this class. The exam don't seem too difficult until you get the test back and see your grade. Grading is HARSH but this class is so worth it and there's a curve.
Very good teacher- I really enjoyed his class. I didn't do any of the reading, just studied lecture notes, and ended up doing really well. Definitely a lot of work, mostly memorization. He's interesting and I would recommend this class.
tought class, but you learn alot. He knows his tests are hard and he'll tell you to really know your notes. Take his advise. Stu's a nice guy. i liked the course.
Leslie Wilson is an extremely good explainer. This is the only class in which I can attend and never look at the notes and still do good on the tests. His teaching style is fun in that he relates courework to stuff people are interested in like ethanol metabolism, how antibiotics work, drug-drug interactions.

Very passionate about his material. If you every get a chance to take a class with him, do it. He's very kind hearted and a great man
Awesome
Amazing and Hilarious! Friday fun facts are not to miss! You learn a lot in the class but is well worth it if you plan on going on to graduate/professional school
The best professor I've had so far. He makes the materials very clearly and fun. He's very approchable and helpful during office hours. This class is indeed challenging. Make sure you get some sense of DNA/RNA/protein techniques and experimental procedures before you take this class. Getting good TAs are critical too.
