Wonderful professor who truly cares about his students. Theres a lot of readings. Make sure you get help on the hw if you don't know how to do them because it's 35% of grade. Despite challenging midterms, the curve will work to ur advantage. most importantly REVIEW MIDTERMS FOR FINAL!!!

Professor Mehta is what a professor should be. Competent, thoughtful, and engaging. He has brought some true credibility to the Global Studies program and I finally feel as if I have the tools to go out and make a real difference in the world because of what he teaches. Take his class, it will change your life!

BEST Professor EVER! He is so smart and you will learn A LOT. For the bottom poster who said it was way too much work--- it's college!! Bottom line: do your work and study and it will be an easy A. This professor will change the way you look at the world!

Best professor I've ever had. Clear and easy to understand. Its not easy, but definitely worth it. He actually teaches rather than just talks at you.

He definitely expects way too much out of his students. He gives you way too much work and expects you to know much more than students can handle. He doesn't even teach a lot of his lectures and brings in guest lecturers. Definitely do not take this class if you are taking a lot of units. Made me lose interest in global studies.

Great professor. He takes his teaching serious, but is also very approachable and friendly. He makes tests hard on purpose, and then gives a big curve at the end of the quarter. He does try and pack a little too much into each lecture, making them confusing at times. This can be cleared up in Office Hours and Sections though.

One of the best professors I've had at UCSB. It was definitely a challenging class but he is genuinely interested in helping his students learn and his office hours were extremely helpful. If you work hard you'll get an A.

Metah is extrememly generous with his time and genuinely wants to help his students learn. An amazing professor and a cool person!! Lots of heavy reading but good review and preperation for the exams.Go to class and Don't take more than 12 units when you take this class if you want an A.

Aashish is great. Yes, the topic is hard sometimes but it is EXTREMELY useful for global majors. He holds tons of office hours to help you in any way possible, and grades on a high curve. Homework is worth more than tests anyway! I think a lot of people will whine about this class now, but be glad they took it later on.

If you aren't stellar with econ, convoluted lectures, and wordy multiple choice exams - DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS.

Awful awful awful class and professor. The tests are poorly written and tricky. The class average for the midterms was something ridiculously low like 64%. Avoid taking this global requirement with this professor if you can.
