She is the best professor I've met in UCSB. Professor Jane is very very respectful to students, helpful and nice. I'm kinda surprise that she dosen't have any rating in this website. Her course is inspirational, organized, and giving you a free. She is always ready to help you if you want to try new material. Take her class!!

Projects: group project to warm up, two solo projects and a list of works Very nice class, not much direction except a few skill workshops and inspirational prompts, but much creative freedom, we could basically create anything 3d. Jane is very supportive, helpful and open to new ideas.

She's very nice and willing to accommodate others. The class is easy if you read, show up, participate, and try on all the projects. It's fairly interesting. The tests aren't hard as long as you prepare before hand. Pay attention in lecture.

The reading is DENSE,and you have to read them. The midterms and finals are based on the readings and you also have to do essay questions too on the test, which made it really hard for me with the time limit..BUT THE PROJECTS WERE GREAT!the timing of the projects were practical, enough time. the TA's were wonderful! Not too satisfied with my grade.

She is a genuinely nice lady. I love that you always see her working on her own stuff in the sculpture yard too. Sometimes a little restrictive, in terms of her own direction for your work. Overall great art prof whether in lecture or in studio.

She is a great art teacher but has a direction that she may force upon you. Personally I prefer an art teacher to let you be more independent.

THE BEST Art Professor in the entire university. She is a very well known artist in Europe as well as in the U.S. Stanford and Goldsmiths College Graduate, extremely smart, intellectual and passionate. Highly organized, honest and fair. What else do you need from an art prof.?
