Environmental Studies - ENV S

Freshwater is critical to human existence and our environment. When water crosses international borders, competing interests among nation-states on how to utilize this common pool resource may trigger conflict or cooperation. Drawing on several case studies from around the world, this course integrates science, political economy, history, and international law to provide a general framework for identifying the factors that have led to or inhibited successful water sharing.

Prerequisites: Upper-division standing.
