Environmental Studies - ENV S

Course introduces students to the fundamentals of groundwater hydrology by exploring the following topics: groundwater and the hydrologic cycle; tectonic and geologic settings of groundwater aquifers; the principles of groundwater flow and storage within the Earth system; groundwater management with an emphasis on California groundwater policy and the characterization of physical basin conditions. Students should be prepared to perform quantitative analyses. Completion of Math 34 A/B or 3 A/B are strongly encouraged.

Prerequisites: Upper-division standing.
