Prof Moak is hilarious and makes learning a new language fun! He genuinely cares about his students and I want to take an upper div with him next quarter!

Doctor Moak is the best professor at ucsb. He makes every class easier just because he truly explains everything in a way that's easy to understand. I have had other professors who are also highly educated but no one as humble and passionate as Dr Moak.

Professor Moak is very passionate about this class and its topic and this really shows in his lectures. I think this class is a very doable writing elective for non-French or comp lit majors and is interesting to anyone unfamiliar with the topic.

He is such a great lecturer the best one I've had at UCSB. There is a midterm and a final take home paper very fair grader and the midterm has a study guide that is extremely helpful for test.

His class was fairly easy and interesting. Made his slides easy to follow along and provided them before lecture began. It went a lot into Roman time and the metaphors used in the readings. There were three readings (poems, a long story, and few chapters of a book). Would recommend this class and professor.
