Probably the best professor I've taken, seems harsh at first but he really isn't. Appreciates effort

Solid professor, understanding, tough at times if midterm/tests don't go well, but open to be helpful. The class content itself was very hard, so he didn't do a bad job. Just follow the study guide/have those answers prepped in your head before the exam, and it'll be really straightforward (basically copy paste from study guide).

Professor Castillo is super nice and helpful. Lectures were a bit hard to follow as he didn't stick to slides too much. Definitely a more difficult teaching style for non-native speakers. However there's great opportunity to boost your grade through participation.

A very nice and understanding professor with an awesome mustache. Readings were difficult (both a lot of them and challenging to undertstand) but he's an awesome guy who definitely tries to help students. Exams (one midterm and final) are not difficult and no papers. Just pay attention in lecture. Gives extra credit for participating in class.

Dr. Castillo is literally the best professor at UCSB. He is so intelligent and passionate not to mention hilarious if you have kind of dry humor like he does. Participation in his class counts as extra credit and he is a very generous grader. His readings can be long sometimes because they are books but they are fun and easy to read.

Took a couple of his courses, which were interesting. He is a great professor who enjoys getting feedback from students about what is helpful what is not helpful. He grades fairly and cares about his students doing well in his courses. Lectures are crucial in doing well on the exams.
