CollegeGrading here is a blind lottery draw. Midterms mean absolutely nothing. Someone who scores double-digits lower than me on midterms but gets a similar final score will somehow get a better overall grade. It's an “improvement” based system. Pro tip: bomb the midterms, do okay on the final, grab an easy A-.
This class was pure mental torture. No matter how hard I tried, the exams made me feel it was designed to break me. The sheer mental distress just isn't worth it. Avoid if you value your sanity.
The prof is not bad and my low rate is only for the class. I studied two weeks in advance for both midterms and completely mastered all the slides. Despite that, the exam questions were incredibly bizarre and unpredictable. I ended up bad on both. Seriously, do NOT take this class as an elective. It really traumatized me.
mumbles when he lectures and goes through his slides super fast. only graded on two midterms and a final - easily the hardest class i've ever taken i don't recommend. when he tells you its a very hard class he isn't exaggerating.
Prefaces the class by saying that it is going to be difficult, and that was an honest statement. Immunology as a whole is a tough and dense subject but the slides and lectures prepare you to do well on the exams. He is clear on expectations, and overall his exams were reasonable if you did the readings and studied well.
He was engaging, recorded lectures, and was willing to answer questions. In 133H he asked questions to guide us to understand the material. The topic itself is hard, it is immunobiology. To learn about the immune system you need to understand how everything links and how to analyze data. Fair midterms, you HAVE to study. Hard subject = hard class.
