Yamauchi sensee is the best prof I've ever had in UCSB. Her lecture is really organized and interesting. She is generous in grading. Highly recommend her class.

She's very cheerful and always willing to help students outside of class. Emphasis is placed on speaking skills as well as grammar and vocab. However, the oral exams are rare and relatively easy. She really makes the class fun. It's the only class I've looked forward to going to this quarter.

Yamauchi-sensei's immersive approach to language learning in the classroom has made me confident in my ability to learn Japanese. Definitely take her!
