CollegeKaty is a very nice and clear lecturer. She gave step-by-step hints on the tough homework problems to make them doable. Her office hours are super helpful also for both the exams and homework assignments.
(Fall 2023) 201A with Craig was absolutely amazing. Measure theory is a tough subject, but she taught it very well and made it look really easy. Plus she was immensely helpful in office hours, and her grading criteria encouraged good study habits. She's also very friendly and fun to talk to.
Professor Craig is an incredible teacher for a challenging class. She's clearly extremely intelligent and knowledgeable, but unlike some other professors who are similarly smart, she doesn't under-explain or assume we know more than we do. She goes through very carefully and slowly to help us gain a good intuition for the concepts.
She is very kind to students and passionate about teaching. However, her teaching is too intuitive and she merely gives example questions in her lecture. The homework and exams are just so hard with not too many curves. Anyway, she's a good person but I'll never take her class again...
I had to say her teaching ability is not that well -- methods used in proofs are redundant and inconvenient & tend to make simple questions complicated. Cannot give quick & clear explanation if you ask her question. Deduct a lot of points on HW&Exam for unnecessary things -- ambiguous about the curve before exam. Bad experience; never take again...
Reviewing topics she emphasizes in the class doesn't help since she may test on totally something else. Will deduct a lot of points for minor mistakes. Also not the best at teaching things. TA explains things more clearer than she does. Whether you pass the class really depends on how smart you are. Avoid if you are not good at self-learning.
