CollegeDoctor Moak is the best professor at ucsb. He makes every class easier just because he truly explains everything in a way that's easy to understand. I have had other professors who are also highly educated but no one as humble and passionate as Dr Moak.
Professor Moak is very passionate about this class and its topic and this really shows in his lectures. I think this class is a very doable writing elective for non-French or comp lit majors and is interesting to anyone unfamiliar with the topic.
He is such a great lecturer the best one I've had at UCSB. There is a midterm and a final take home paper very fair grader and the midterm has a study guide that is extremely helpful for test.
He is a truly good professor. Not intimidating, makes things very interesting, and cares about the wellbeing of his students. Overall great professor
Prof. Moak is passionate about French history. The class was extremely interesting and engaging. Grade is based solely on attendance & two 5-8 page essays. The first essay's prompt was given a week in advance and the final paper, which was an open prompt, was given two weeks in advance. Clear structure, interesting lecture. Overall, good prof.
Prof Moak is hilarious and makes learning a new language fun! He genuinely cares about his students and I want to take an upper div with him next quarter!
