CollegeProfessor Tober made this class much easier to understand. We had 5 assignments total and a lot of time is giving to complete them, and we go over a lot of it in class and in section. Attendance is not mandatory but going to class would make it much easier. Shes the best!
Dr. Tober is absolutely the best! I transferred in as a SOC major and was hating the profs in the department. She turned things around for me. She's passionate about the field and her research. Attendance is taken every week, 1 fairly easy online reading quiz per week, and final is a research project which includes every other week assignments.
She's really cool
There's a reason why she has a 5/5. Take her!!!!!
Literally the best prof I've had at UCSB. weekly quizzes on readings, 2 essays and 1 final op ed. She dropped 2 quizzes which helped me a lot. She is so real and I appreciate her openness with the material. Lots of respect for her.
Lectures were pretty interesting, and Tober is a very engaging lecturer. Weekly homework quizzes were based off of a reasonable amount of textbook reading, but this weekly work can all be done within an hour. Graded by a midterm, final, project, and the HW quizzes, which are all easy given a little bit of effort. Overall, recommend for an easy GE.
