The professor is very kind and understanding. the class was super easy and fun I really liked it. the required book is available in the library and the professor is not too strict about late submissions. definitely would take this class again if I could.
Ive taken Russian with larry for the last 3 years and he's been great every quarter. Generous grader and clearly wants everyone to succeed. Like with every language you really need to grind vocab, grammar etc... but larry does a good job of using assignments to guide everything along smoothly imo. good dude, good class
Great instructor. Theres a lot of reading but Larry guides the class through pretty well. Lots of quizzes but its not bad if you study. Gets to know each student and makes you care about Russian. Would take again.
Professor McLellan is the best! I transferred into Russian 3 and have taken him up to Russian 6. He is easily one of the most caring, kind and respectable professors at UCSB. If youre scared of taking Russian dont be, Larry is great at explaining things and is patient. Professor McLellans Russian class is one of my favorite things about UCSB.
Larry is a really great professor. He is kind, accessible, and willing to help all students. He makes learning Russian exciting and interesting, even though it can be hard at times. For the large majority of the class, just study what he tells you and read the online textbook, and you'll be fine!
Larry is a super nice and approachable dude. He does a good job explaining things and the class activities are relevant. The quizzes are fair but you do have to study for them. The midterms and finals are hard if you haven't been keeping up so going to class everyday and doing the hw is super important.
