CollegeThis was for PS1, not 187 There seems to be an arbitrary and not well explained standard of grading in her class. She's an extremely kind person, but the feedback you receive from office hours, lectures, and section are almost useless when it comes to performing well on tests, midterms, or essays. Great lectures, unfair grading standards.
Professor Keum might be young but she is an absolute sweetheart and is very passionate in teaching. Lectures are mostly student lead discussions, course work is relatively light and the courses is graded on a very few things but do not neglect the readings for a significant chunk of the midterms and final will be from it.
Genuinely one of the most amazing people ever!! She works really hard to make political philosophy both current and understandable. There's a lot of reading for this class, but the prof is really good at pacing us and explaining the dense material.
Easily the best professor I have ever taken in my four years of higher education. She is super kind, knowledgeable, and I looked forward to attending every class! Grading criteria is very clear and reasonable - don't expect an A if you don't put in the effort/do the readings, though. Super accessible and just awesome all around!
Professor Keum is one of my favorite professors so far. She was very understanding throughout the entire online quarter and she was so obviously passionate about what she was teaching us, which I definitely think made the material more engaging and easy to comprehend. If you have to take a political theory class, definitely try for Keum!
such a sweet and understanding prof! super accommodating about deadlines/technical issues. lot of dense reading, but discussion sections are detailed and helpful. exams are lengthy and require a lot of writing, but if you just pay attention in discussion you can do well. very organized class and regular emails/updates!
