Could not recommend Dr. Morrissey more or her class cell growth and oncogenesis! There is no textbook, but she posts weekly readings related to the homework assignments (they are interesting and good practice reading academic papers). Great lectures and very fair grading. Plus if you do well on midterms you don't have to take the final!

This was one of my favorite upper div MCDB courses. There were weekly quizzes and weekly homework assignments which made up 30% of your grade The final was optional depending on if you felt good about your grade after MT2. The exams were very fair and graded generously. I learned a ton and she made it all really interesting.

Dr. Morrissey was great. This was her first time teaching the course, and she made the subject matter interesting and easy to understand. With fair exams, straightforward HW, and helpful TAs/sections, this class has been one of my favorites at UCSB thanks to the way Dr. Morrissey has designed it! She's super helpful through office hours and Canvas.
