Examines the proliferation of border security technologies used to surveil, detect, categorize, detain, and deport people who cross borders without state permission. Together we explore global examples of border security regimes and resistance movements, including artist and activist media practices that expose and disrupt the violence of state borders, while inviting students to consider their own proximity to and lived experience of the US-Mexico border here in California.
