Collegewe watched movies and you only had to write two papers then the final, plus participation. the class workload was doable and the class itself was also. manageable. did not regret coming to class
Prof Grasset is fantastic. I took this course w/ little Spanish speaking skills and he offered all the movies with English subs and let’s you participate in English if you’re not a Spanish major/minor. His guidelines are casual so as long as you prove you’re engaging with the material through the papers and discussions you’ll get an A.
This class and professor were awesome! Relatively simple and straightforward, watched one movie a week, one response paper all quarter, essay-based short and simple midterms and finals. The movies were all cool and for the post movie discussions, Prof Grasset made us think critically which helped me get a lot out of the class.
Spanish 126 has left me enlightened. Eloi is compelling, funny, and nice. You do have to understand Spanish but his speaking is very clear and as a non-native speaker the class is still totally managable. Not exactly an easy A but he grades fairly. You will learn so much cool stuff you won't even care about the grade anyway. Un hombre increíble.
I absolutely loved taking class with Eloi. He is super clear in how the class is going to work, and how you will be graded. He does take attendance almost every class and participation counts. He will write down your name when you comment in class so its important to go but his lectures are awesome so its worth it.
Super straightforward class: one midterm, five response papers, two discussion questions, and attendance. The response papers were turned in every other week, and you had to write about every other movie which means you didn't have to watch all of them. HOWEVER, participation in discussion is 20% of your grade. Funny, smart, and approachable.
